In collaboration with White’s Oats.
Peanut butter and chocolate is just one of those strange sounding combinations that really works. I’m a huge fan, and if you’re not aware of the amazing peanut butter cup chocolate treats from the U.S, where have you been? I’ve taken this popular chocolate flavour and made it something that can be served at breakfast time, which contains a secret ingredient.
Yes, chocolate for breakfast. What’s not to love?
Warming Peanut Butter Oats
Although it’s supposed to be summer here in the UK, some mornings have really had an autumnal vibe about them. Mornings like these call for a breakfast that’s going to warm your tummy. Porridge is perfect for this, it’s hearty and wholesome and always feels like a hug in a bowl when I make it.
Peanut Butter And A Secret Ingredient
This porridge which can be cooked on the hob or the stove is seriously rich because of that secret ingredient – quark! I mixed through a couple of tablespoons of natural quark, while the porridge made with White’s Oats, was almost finished cooking on the hob, making it thick and creamy. Quark is a great addition to sneak into your porridge because it’s naturally low in fat and high in protein making your porridge more filling and sustainable.
We love White’s Oats because they have a natural creaminess to them and nutty texture because of their unique milling process. I had the opportunity to be invited to one of their grower’s farms a few years ago in the Cotswolds and I learned so much about their production process.
If you’re making this in the microwave, just stir all the ingredients together in a microwaveable bowl and heat for a few minutes.
Peanut Butter And Other Topping Ideas
What I love about porridge the most are the toppings. I go topping crazy! Fresh berries, nuts, nut butters, chocolate chips, seeds – there are no limits. Of course, if you are really craving chocolate you can add some more chocolate chips to make it really intense in chocolate. That’s the beauty of porridge, you can tailor it to your own tastes because it’s extremely versatile.

I’ve recently rediscovered Quark and we LOVE it. A beautifully balanced flavour. Not too sharp at all. I can imagine that it would balance the inherent sweetness here. This recipe really appeals to me as I am American and the peanut butter and chocolate combination is practically in our DNA! 😉
It’s so lovely isn’t it. It really helps to cut through the sweetness. Ha! Love that your on board with the PB and chocolate combo.
I am not a big fan of porridge but the one you made looks absolutely delicious
Thank you!
I love the look of this and it’s very healthy too. I could do with doing this one.
Thank you!
I have peanut butter porridge for breakfast quite often. I might try adding some banana next time!
Yum! Fantastic start to the morning.
Peanut butter and chocolate is one of the best combinations in my opinion, love the sound of this x
It’s so fab isn’t it!
I love peanut butter and I love porridge but I’d never thought about combing the two.
They work do well together.
I was only thinking about porridge the other day and how we are heading towards the time I love a good bowl, I’ll have to add this recipe to my must try!
Thank you. It’s feeling very autumnal at the moment.
I love the idea of adding quark to porridge! I can’t eat peanut butter but I’m tempted to try this with almond butter instead <3
You could add a different nut butter or leave it out.
Think I only used quark once when I made a no-bake cheesecake. Using it in a porridge puts a new twist on things!
It has a neutral flavour so works well with almost everything.
Wow! I don’t eat porridge mainly because I find it bland and boring but this looks delicious!! I love peanut butter and this is such a great combination!! I’m going to try it!
You can totally make it more appealing by adding different toppings and flavours.
Mmm this sounds so delicious!
I love the toppings you have added too 🙂
Dani x
Thank you!
Looks great! Although I can’t eat peanuts it made my mouth water lol
Thanks so much! ?
This looks so good!! I´m so bad with breakfast but if you would put this in front of me I´d love to eat it 🙂
Thank you! This may convert you then.
This sounds and looks incredible, might make me step away from the simple syrup in porridge
Thank you!
Porridge is such a great, versatile food because you can chuck anything in it! I love the look of this recipe, but I’d probably have to give the choc chips a miss because I’d end up making bad choices throughout the whole day haha!
Thank you! One of the main reasons I love it. You can really make it your own.
Love this idea! (and peanut butter!) Thanks for sharing xx
Thanks Emily!
OMG this looks absolutely amazing! I’ve been using the powdered peanut butter so this would work really well with that! will try tomorrow <3
Thank you. Yes, you could definitely use that too.
Oh wow that looks so good. I wonder if I can get the kids to eat it in the mornings. Thanks so much for sharing.
I love chocolate and peanut butter together! This porridge sounds really delicious, I’ve never thought to add quark to porridge before but I imagine it makes it lovely and creamy; I’ll definitely be giving it a try this Autumn!
Thanks Hannah. Yes, it’s just like adding yoghurt, makes it creamy but also gives it a protein boost too.
I’ve not added peanut butter to my porridge before. I will have to try it out. It sounds really nice and thick!
