Since I started to work from home, I’ve realised that having something healthy to snack on in the cupboards is really important. I could easily sit and snack on chocolate and cake all day, but sometimes a girl just needs something a little less sugary to fuel her working day. After our recent move, we splashed out on a beautiful fridge freezer, which has become like a supportive best friend when it comes to eating well and finding my healthy balance. I’ve kept it well stocked with healthy meals and snacks like this easy to make Matcha Yoghurt Bark.
I prefer to get as much protein into my meals as possible, and this also applies to my snacks as well. A more protein heavy meal keeps me fuller for longer and full fat yoghurt is one of my all time favourite snacks that I normally serve with berries. This time, I wanted to change things up and make something a bit different, which is where the recipe for this frozen yoghurt bark comes from.

- 500 g full fat natural yoghurt
- 1 tsp PureChimp matcha green tea
- 1-2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
- Favorite toppings - I used dried cranberries pumpkin seeds and pistachio nuts.
-
Mix all the ingredients together in a large bowl except the toppings.
-
Transfer to a freezable tray lined with greaseproof paper or cling film and scatter generously with your favourite toppings.
-
Freeze overnight before snapping into individual pieces.
Store in an airtight container in the freezer.
Like with everything, I like to get more bang for my buck and the same can be said for injecting as much nutrition into my mealtimes as possible. Matcha green tea is a wonderful ingredient to include into your eating routine because it naturally lowers cholesterol and increases your metabolism, so great if you’re looking to lose weight. Additionally, it helps to detoxify the body and is a natural mood and energy booster too – there are so many great health benefits.
PureChimp Matcha Green Tea is suitable for vegans and 100% natural, so totally free from any nasty chemicals and flavour enhancers. I can attest to the fact it makes a mean matcha latte, which is one of my favourite ways to enjoy it as well as in a green smoothie.
You can virtually top this with anything, but be generous when you do. In fact the more of your favourite nuts, seeds, and berries you add the better. The chocolate fiend in me did think to scatter some chocolate chips on top too, but I decided that perhaps was better left to next time round. With that beautiful green colour from the matcha, this would make a fantastic healthy treat for Halloween or dare I say it, Christmas.
Do you enjoy making your own snacks? Tried matcha before? What did you think?

I’ve read about the benefits of Matcha green tea for health and skincare. I like the look of these snacks, the greener the better right? I’d love to make this with loads of nuts – mmm!! Thanks for this!
I think that can be said with most food, the greener the better. You can throw whatever you like on top to customise it too. :- )

We’re always looking for new ways to incorporate healthy and new foods into our rotation. The color of this alone, I think, would entice my little to try it! He’s a bit picky but if we can convince him it’s candy or yummy, he’s good to try!
I love the intensity of the green, I would be drawn to those forgetting there was matcha in them x

That looks delish! Do you think you could swap some of the matcha with protein powder to make a protein bomb, or would that change the consistency too much?
