A little late this month with my April recap, but better late than ever I say. Last month was such a funny month for me for many reasons. It wasn’t the best month and it wasn’t awful either, just pretty standard really. My word of month was GROW and I definitely feel that I made huge progress in this department, making plans to increase my online portfolio and my blog and think about some future plans that I want to fulfill.
Easter was at the beginning of the month and I had a wonderful time relaxing with the cutest little Easter bunny in town and eating lots of chocolate. I really loved reading the Easter story to my little man and watching Easter themed movies with him.
For the majority of last month, the weather was stunning. We made the most of it with a family trip to the coast where we enjoyed playing in the sand, fish and chips and ice cream on the promenade before heading back home.
I really feel like I refound my running mojo last month and love being outdoors again. I even made the crazy decision to enter the ballot for next year’s London Marathon, which I submitted yesterday so fingers crossed I get through. Thank you, everyone, for your fantastic advice on marathon training on my Facebook and Twitter feeds.
There were lots of lovely meet-ups with our fantastic mummy friends and babies too. We all treated ourselves to brunch and I had this delicious Parisian breakfast. Going out for brunch is definitely my new thing!
Along with Aiden’s developmental leaps last month we also finally made a start on his nursery and built his beautiful Owlet cotbed. We’re struggling to get him to sleep in it at the moment so any advice on this transition would be incredibly helpful.
In other news, my blog was featured in last months Fit and Well magazine where they featured my Peanut Buttercup Protein Brownie recipe that you all seem to love. Also, my first article was published over on The Huffington Post’s blog which I was grinning ear-to-ear about. I’ve got another article to contribute to their blog soon, so I’ll let you know when it goes live.
I posted some great recipes this month including my No-Bake Cherry Bakewell Cheesecake, Energy Boosting Sunshine Green Smoothie, and my Mexican Bean Chilli Wraps. Go and check out my newly updated and easy to navigate recipe page for more healthy inspiration if you haven’t already.

I wasn’t sure what to set as my word of the month for May, but I settled on some words instead: DREAM BIG. I think sometimes we’re restricted by the limitations that we put on ourselves and I’m going to try to dream big and then some. Sometimes we have the craziest ideas, but they are the best ideas and we are too scared to chase them because of how large they seem. This month is set to be a busy one for me with my first ever newsletter going out (you can sign up here!) and I hope to have my recipe E-book that will be FREE to subscribers completed by the end of the month too, fingers crossed.
HOW WAS APRIL FOR YOU? ANY MAJOR HIGHLIGHTS?
WHAT WORD WOULD YOU LIKE TO SET FOR MAY?

it looks like you had a great April, congrats on your blog achievements and for writing the e-book, can’t wait to download it x
Thanks! 🙂 Hopefully I can have it ready for the end od the month, but we shall see.
I managed to relax over our Easter break and felt rejuvenated on our return. For May I want to embrace my CREATIVITY!
I’ve really been able to explore my creativity recently and found it really satisfying. Great to hear that you had a lovely Easter break!
Ooh, I love your cotbed! It’s so different to many of the ones you see around these days 🙂 It sounds as though you had a fantastic April, and I hope your May is just as good.
Louise x
We love it because it’s so different too. I hope you have a great May!
Congrats on the feature. That’s really exciting 🙂
Thanks, Dannii! It’s always exciting to see your name in print. 🙂
April was a busy month for me but a fun one too. I love the clarity of all your pictures too.
I hope May is more restful for you. 🙂
Your cotbed is lovely Jemma, the colour is so beautiful.
And I know I’ve said it before but I am LOVING the blog redesign, it looks fantastic.
Thanks, Claire we really love that it’s a little bit different from the norm and love the colour too. So happy that you liek the redesign! 🙂
What a lovely Magnolia in your first photo – I have just bought my own little one which I hope to grow into a full sized tree. Congrats on the Fit and Well magazine mention 🙂
It’s such a beautiful tree and we’re so lucky to have it in our garden. It’s as big as our house. 🙂
April was tough, but better than March. I’m finding my feet on my solo journey again and realising i’m stronger than I thought. But it is tough at times – on-wards and upwards to the future though!
Yay for entering for a marathon!
Good for you Anna! It must be so hard, but your attitude is really inspiring. To dust yourself off and carry on shows your strength of character.
Looks like you had a busy yet great month. I look forward to reading your recipe book.
Hopefully I can get it ready for the end of the month for you all. 🙂
Looks and sounds like you had an awesome April! And that cheesecake looks divine!!!
It was pretty decent, thanks! Hope you have a wonderful May.
Thanks for featuring my post – I think a lot of people could relate to it! Eek, fingers crossed for the marathon ballot – I entered it too as the marathon this year was awesome, such an amazing day and I can definitely say that I’d do it all again! x
Love the new look! Very pretty design.
