Hello everyone! I hope you are all having a great week.
My body is now very much over the tiredness of the Summer Sundae Weekender. It was such an amazing festival and I had such a great time listening to some amazing bands and meeting lots of fun and interesting people.
Festival chic
OOTD: floral asymmetric maxi dress, New Look, waist belt, H&M, black sandals, Office, green side bag, French Connection, gold swallow earrings, Accessorize, cocktail ring, Linea @ House of Fraser.
It was great to see that the majority of people had made a fantastic effort with their festival chic. Super short shorts seemed to be everyone’s favourite choice and lots of funky patterned wellies too.
The entire festival was awesome! It was very small and intimate, but that just added to the atmosphere and the fun of it all. Everyone around us just seemed to be having a great time.
We had fun exploring all of the different tents and stalls that were selling vintage clothes, arts and crafts, and funny hats.
There was just so much to do and see, but since we arrived super early we decided to go hang in the comedy tent for a bit. Due to the time of day it was more comedic poetry rather than stand up comedy, which I personally prefer. However, some of the acts were quite good and I’m glad we took the opportunity to experience something new and different.
We also experienced some new and amazing bands and artists.
On the Main Stage we heard the fantastic Young Knives, The Cuban Brothers and Maniere Des Bohemiens…
Over at the Musician Stage we saw Skinny Lister and Tom Baxter(simply awesome!),
On the Up and Coming Stage we were introduced to a band called Dutch Uncles. 🙂
We stayed until one of the headline acts Example (the other was McFly) came on to the main stage. The space in front of the stage was completely packed out and he didn’t disappoint. His set was crazygood!
It was great to see my brother, Ellis working at the Wagamama Lounge too. He’s a trained chef, but I’ve never actually seen him in action in the kitchen creating anything in a professional capacity before so that was an a great experience in itself. After he finished his shift he hung around with me and Alfie to enjoy the sights and sounds of the festival.
Of course I made him cook our lunch first… 
I had the Yasai Yaki Soba that was a mix of whole wheat soba noodles and stir fried veggies. This tasted absolutely delicious. I’m a very proud big sister! 
And without a doubt visiting the Alpro Soya stand was a must!
They were handing out free yoghurts and samples by the bucket load:
Alfie was keen to have his first taste of soya yoghurt…
HIS VERDICT: “It’s actually quite nice!”
I was so happy to see him get involved and have him try some of “my food” as he refers to it and actually realise that it doesn’t taste weird or flavourless. I think I may be buying some of these variety yoghurt pots for him in the future.
In fact we ate a lot of yoghurt in so many different flavours from raspberry, vanilla, peach and pear and cherry. All of which tasted amazing. We also ran back to the Alpro stand when they started serving up strawberries and cream too.
We really were spoilt for choice where food was concerned. At one point I was walking back and forth analysing the menus of the Falafel stand and a Mediterranean stand that also served falafel. What can I say?
My name is Jemma. I’m a falafel addict.
I settled on the Mediterranean stand and picked out a falafel platter, which was served with cous cous, a green lentil tagine, olives, carrots and a leafy salad. Oh and not forgetting the falafel. DOH! 🙂
But, of course like all good things they must come to an end…
I would like to say a big thank you to Alpro for making us feel so welcome and looking after us and keeping us well supplied with delicious yoghurts. You were all truly wonderful!

Awwwr looking at all these pics totally got me into the festival spirit! I love festivals, but we don’t really get any huge ones around here, so I’d have to say that I prefer the smaller ones, because we get a tonne of those every summer. From carnivals to music to street performers… our summer is like one festival after another.

I love festivals!! I went to Summer Sundae several years in a row and you have brought back so many great memories for me 🙂 Next year I am going to go to at least one to celebrate finishing uni 🙂

If I had legs like those girls I would most certainly be rocking the short-shorts look too! I think your outfit is more sophisticated and stylish though, although I am sure you’d rock those shorts and wellies better than anyone else there.
I prefer smaller festivals but with big-name bands, so I think I’m asking for the impossible! I find big festivals scary, as being hobbit-sized I can never see the stage properly and usually end up getting crushed. I think the weather really makes or breaks a festival: every time I’ve been to one I’ve been drenched, cold and covered in mud by the end, so pretty miserable!
