Today I have a great post for you about getting the most out of your home workouts, you really can get a great workout in at home.
We all live busy lives and staying motivated to do a workout after a long day at work can sometimes be extremely hard. Being too tired to make a trip to the gym can sometimes leave you with that guilty feeling that, since you didn’t work out, you need to skip a meal otherwise you’ll turn into a blob.
No, in fact working out when you’re already tired can just wear you out even more, resulting in you craving junk food, to get your energy levels back up. I’ve come to realise that just because I’ve missed a workout doesn’t mean I’ve failed my body, it’s all about balance, being happy and healthy.
It doesn’t matter the length of your workout, even if you’re doing a 15 minute workout at day, it’s better than just sitting on the sofa letting negative thoughts run through your head. If you’re noticing that the gym sessions are getting further and further apart, don’t fret; use that motivation to strive and be healthy from the comfort of your own home, with a home gym.
A home gym doesn’t need to be a whole room dedicated to expensive state of the art gym equipment – there are plenty of alternatives that work just as good and provide the same results, here are a few suggestions:
1. The Reebok EasyTone Step
If you’re paying for your gym membership every month but sadly aren’t getting your money’s worth, then buying this Reebok EasyTone step for a reasonable price of £89.99 from Gym Company, could be the ideal investment you have been looking for. Perfect for when you’re watching the telly, step on and off the stepping pad at the speed you would like. The balance pods will help you tone up, build strength and improve posture. Engaging in guilt-free exercising that is fun, means you are taking simple steps to achieving the body you want.
2. Jordan Pro Fit Ball
Whether you’re going to the gym regularly or just when you can, this Pro Fit ball at under £20 is a bargain that everyone should have in their home. Sometimes if I have a busy weekend that last thing I want to do is push myself at the gym leaving myself tired for work on Monday. The Pro Fit ball is a great way to improve strength whilst toning, at your own pace in your own time, whether its push ups, crunches or yoga and pilates to help you wind down.
3. Trampoline
The treadmill has always been one of my favourite workouts, just plug my music in and off I go, no matter how long I work out for I can always feel the results. If you enjoy anything from a brisk walk to sprinting you would really benefit from using a trampoline. I recently found out that to use a trampoline you need to release the same amount of energy, however, you get faster results. Generating higher leg speed will cause you to burn calories faster without the harsh impact on your joints – perfect for at home so you only need to work out half as long, now who wouldn’t love that?
If you’re looking for something more permanent that you can use at home, if you want or want specific equipment for a particular work out then you can find more equipment here.
What fitness equipment do have at home?
Do you enjoy home workouts?

I think home workouts are great for when you are short on time. I love doing yoga videos from youtube. I just have my yoga mat, strap, some dumbbells, a skipping rope and a swiss ball at home. Body weight exercises are awesome too!
I have a yoga mat and some yoga bands. I guess my best non-gym workout is to go running outdoors.
