Hello lovely people! I hope you’ve all had a fantastic week. It has just been about getting my head down at work for me with lots of pesky deadlines to keep me busy. I tend to thrive on being productive and crossing things off my to-do list so it has been a great week for that.
Since trying to organise the UK blogger meet up there has been plenty of interest and a lot of you are keen to meet up which I’m really happy about, I love meeting bloggers and in many cases friends. The most popular date from the two I suggested was Saturday 24th August, so please save the date and more details will follow in terms of times. For those of you who are interested in going could you please drop me an email at celeryandcupcakes@gmail.com so that we can communicate the details via email. I might even create a button for the meet up too! =)
Wrap dresses and leggings have been my go to out fit this week:
OOTD: Black wrap dress, Zara//leggings, Primark//biker jacket, ASOS//scarf, gifted//red ballet pumps, Mimco.
There is something quite liberating about dresses worn with leggings, so comfy. Wrap dresses are very flattering on curvy figures like mine too! =)
My eats have literally been on repeat this week. I roasted a huge batch of veggies at the weekend and they have been a major player in all of my dinners:
I whipped up this salad really quickly after the gym one night. It included mixed salad leaves, roasted veggies, roasted turkey breast and chorizo. Chorizo is something that I love but haven’t had in a while. There was so much flavour in those slices that it made a very simple salad really special.
Another salad for dinner, but this time it contained black pepper smoked herring. Smoked herring is a new one for me, I found that it’d not as rich as my usual smoked mackerel. Of course the roasted veg also made an appearance again, yum!
Oven baked salmon has also been a favourite this week…
…with roasted veggies and spinach and cherry tomatoes wilted in some garlic and chive cream cheese. Baked salmon with veggies has been one of my go to meals for a while and the best thing is Alfie really loves it too.
There was a change in course last night though, only because my stash of roasted veggies was no more. I made a jerk chicken curry using chicken breasts and served it with lots of steamed broccoli.
Breakfast has mainly been eaten at work again this week but I have managed to squeeze in a few green smoothies in the car too. I bought some bits for lunch at work to including dome Covent Garden soups as they are on offer in Sainsbury’s.
Pea and mint soup with some Ryvita crackers topped with Sabra hummus.
My favourite dessert this week has to be this bowl of frozen grapes and fresh strawberries. If you saw my healthy cheesecake recipe yesterday then you will know how much I’m loving strawberries at the moment. The frozen grapes were pretty epic too.
I’m really looking forward to this weekend as we a having a family get together to celebrate my sister-in-laws 21st birthday. I think a BBQ is on the cards, yay! It’s going to be great spending some time with Alfie. Both of us have been really busy with work recently. I’ve been busy with my new job and working on the blog (most evenings) and Alfie has been busy preparing for his new surgical job, extra shifts and revision for his surgical exam.
Although all this hard work is so work it and it will/has paid off we haven’t really done anything together for a while so we have been making some fun plans like visiting friends here and overseas, honeymoon planning for our 1st wedding anniversary (November), a family day trip, a graduation dinner and we also want to see a show in London! It looks like it’s going to still be a busy summer full of fun stuff, but at least we will be doing these things together and amongst all of that we have an Indian wedding to go too…cannot wait!
Have you made any exciting plans recently?
What are getting up to this weekend?

In recommend the Lion King or War Horse shows! Have a good week end x
I love The Lion King, it’s one of my faves!
Aah so many exciting plans!! I’m always so jealous when you have a BBQ, I wish we could have more.
I’m exactly the same – I love being busy and that to-do list is oh-so-satisfying!!
I won’t be able to make the 24th as I’ll be having birthday celebrations – hopefully next time, it would be so nice to meet you! xx
We had an epic BBQ yesterday. Loved it! Hope you are having fun in the sun 🙂 I bet Brighton is amazing this weekend.
Ooh an indian wedding sounds so great 🙂 ! Sounds like you have a lot of things to keep you entertained! Nice one on the blogger meet up date, I’ll pop you an e-mail, I’m not sure if I’ll be working yet but will definitely come if I’m not! As for my weekend plans, am doing the Race For Life 5k on Sat, then off to the seaside for the boyfriend’s brother’s bday (we’re going to an American diner and then bowling hehe!) and then finally off to the south of france for holiday frolics, hooray!
I’m really looking forward to the wedding. I might even wear a sari if I can get my hands one one. Have a lovely holiday!
I love frozen grapes. It’s really the only way I can eat them otherwise I go completely overboard and eat a million in one go. Not great for my tummy!
I’m gutted about missing the blogger meet-up (I’m in Essex visiting Ben’s dad that weekend, and the other weekend you suggested I’ve got a half marathon – ho hum!) but I hope you guys have a great time!
Frozen grapes are such a revelation, so yummy!
Hope you have a lovely weekend- the weather is certainly fantastic! I would love to try and get to the blogger meet up, might be able to if I am in the UK visiting family around that time. I’m going for a swim in the Irish sea tonight- must be mental ha! Tomorrow I am going to hopefully go on a bike ride to the local park and farmers market, and of course watch the tennis!
Fingers crossed that you can make it! 🙂 Enjoy the sunshine.
Wow you have been busy! I hope you enjoy the weekend, the weather is just fab!
I hope you have been enjoying the sunshine 🙂
