…and for sunshine, sand sea!  It’s difficult not too mention the weather again, it’s still looking incredible in my neck of the woods and is here to stay for the weekend.  Alfie and I have finally booked some winter sunshine in the form of our honeymoon.

Given the occasion we wanted to go on the trip of a life time, so we are heading for Sri Lanka and then on to the Maldives for our 1st year wedding anniversary.  Obviously I’m beyond excited, there’s roughly 3 months and 21 days to go-not that I’m counting or anything.

I’ve been loving digging out my summer wardrobe and wearing bright colours:

I had so many nice comments on that bright orange skirt. It’s one of my favourite items of clothing. I just love the 1950s look of it.

With this heat wave that we have been experiencing in the UK the only thing I have been craving for breakfast are smoothies.  I‘ve had one every day this week and cannot get enough in this heat!

Aside from the usual green smoothies I’ve also been enjoying fruit smoothies in marshmallow form:

This cherry marshmallow protein smoothie was awesome.  Although it didn’t have much of that melted marshmallow texture to it because I added too much lactose free milk. It was still good though!

This black forest one was spot on and yes, it tasted so good!

Peanut butter and banana is a winning formulation, even in smoothie form.  I added banana protein powder too to give it more staying power and topped it with some Raw Chocolate and Berry Trail Mix.

My work bought a chicken and avocado sandwhich to sit in the park and eat the other day.  It looked so good that I had to have something similar for dinner. I used mixed leaves, tomatoes, half and avocado and roasted turkey breast to make one heck of a salad. This was gorgeous and a perfect and satisfying meal for the hot weather.

I love the name of this snack bar:

I’ve never heard of this brand before until I received it in a Nutribox.  They are really dense and chocolaty and healthy too!

We headed to Spain for last nights meal.  I had some chorizo in the fridge so decided to make a Chicken and Chorizo stew with it in the slow cooker. I added a chopped onion, green peppers, tinned tomatoes, tomato paste, smoked paprika and harissa.  All my dinner plates have to have some green on them, so I added some steamed veggies in a little butter. Now this was a meal well worth waiting 8 hours for, yum!

Watermelon and some raw chocolate buttons were a fantastic dessert. It’s amazing how such simple food can taste so good.

I’m really looking forward to getting some rest this weekend as it’s been non-stop at work again.  I do like to be busy though, but I really need to catch my breath over the weekend. It’s looking like its going to be beautiful weather wise too, score!

What are you getting up to this weekend? Any plans to enjoy the sunshine?

Are you planning to go on holiday this year?
