Happy Sunday!  I hope you fabulous people are having a lovely weekend.  It’s so nice to finally get back to blogging this week, albeit very little at the moment.  I do love blogging and although my baby boy is my priority I do find it a nice release for my inspirations and a chance to grab some time to myself.  Those celebratory flowers are from my lovely auntie who visited last week.  They’re still going strong and really make our coffee table look pretty.

Since giving birth my meals really have just been grab-and-go or things that can be just whipped together in an instant.  Alfie has been great helping out with the cooking and around the house.  He returned to work this week so things have been a little different and Aiden and I have tried to work things out during the day.  So far so good, although the lack of time has affected my meals and the slow cooker as become my best-friend.

My obsession with figs is still going strong, they’re just so pretty and delicious to eat.  I really like them with organic natural yoghurt, pecans and maple syrup on top of plain porridge.

Porridge has been great on these cold autumnal mornings. This bowl was inspired by the Green Kitchen Stories, one of my favourite recipe blogs!  It’s creamy vanilla porridge with coconut oil, honey and an egg whipped in, organic natural yoghurt, avocado, figs and chia seeds. So yummy and filing with all of those healthy fats.

Another favourite bowl of porridge of mine is this bowl of  pear and chocolate oats topped with figs, maple syrup and almonds.  This was such a treat on a cold wet Monday morning.

Salads have been a staple for lunches, but I have loved the ease of homemade or shop bought organic soups. I’ve been using my slow cooker to make my homemade versions because they can be just left to cook and I can get on with other things.  This spiced red lentil soup has become one of my favourites and is definitely worth a recipe post on the blog.

Since I’m breastfeeding I’m making sure that I have lots of healthy snacks on hand like my No Bake Peanut Butter and Coconut Balls and this delicious  Peanut Butter Fudge:

I’ve also been making use of healthy snack bars like these new to me The Primal Kitchen bars that I spotted over on Claire’s blog and Quest Bars that have been all over my Instagram feed.  Both bars are really good and have been perfect for when I get the breastfeeding munchies:

Dinners have been pretty much plates of meat and vegetables for simplicity and ease:

All ready for our first family outing!

Exercise has been pretty much non-existent since my little man arrived on the scene.  We have gone out for walks with him and shopping, but that’s about it.  I’m waiting for my 6 week GP check up before I ease myself back into working out again, but to be honest I feel fully recovered from the birth now.  I’ve managed to squeeze myself into my pre-pregnancy jeans, although they are my wide-legged jeans that feel snug in places.  I wore them on our first outing with the baby and felt great!

I’m delighted that my blog has been featured in the October issue of Women’s Fitness magazine with my Salted Almond Butter Flapjack recipe.  It’s such an honour and they were so lovely about the blog too!

Also, my Blueberry & Almond Polenta Cake has been featured in an online recipe book (page 56).  It’s incredible seeing one of my recipes professionally styled and laid out like that.

I hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend.  I’m planning lots of snuggles with my cute Superbaby and we have family visiting today which should be fun.

What have you been getting up to this weekend?  What’s the best thing that you have eaten this week?

Have you tried The Primal Kitchen or Quest bars yet?  What did you think?
