One of the most common questions that I have been asked by my readers is how to snack healthily and I also receive lots of requests for healthy snack recipes and ideas. When the hunger monster strikes between meal times its always a tough choice whether to wait it out until your next meal or reach for that bag of crisps stashed in the bottom of your snack drawer.
I think it’s always better to listen to your body, rather than ignoring those hunger pangs. I do always check that I am hungry first thought and not intending to eat out of boredom. A healthy snack can range from a smoothie, a few squares of dark chocolate, trail mix or even hummus with some raw veggies. I’ve made a list of 10 of my favourite snack recipes, proving that snacking can be healthy, wholesome and down right delicious!
Raw Chocolate Covered Tropical Bites

Macadamia and Coconut Protein Truffles
Raw Chocolate and Berry Trail Mix
Triple Chocolate Protein Brownies
Banana Bread Chickpea Flour Muffins

Banana, Apple Butterscotch Green Smoothie

A new favourite snack of mine are mug cakes. I made this wonderful Peanut Butter and Hot Chocolate Protein Mug Cake by cooking the ingredients for 1 minute in the microwave. A cake has never been so simple or healthy. I shared the recipe on my Facebook page.

What are your favourite go to snack recipes? Do you keep a well-stocked snack drawer at work?
When you are out what kind of snacks do you pick up from the shops?

I can’t see why anyone would want a bag of crisps with snacks as yummy as these Jemma! I think the chocolate brownies look especially good!
Mmm your snacks look so good 🙂 I usually plump for a piece of fruit with some sort of protein as my snacks, but I’m also a fan of hummus with raw carrots, and my own home-made trail mix. I tend to keep things like snack bars that you buy for occasional treats rather than regular snacks.
These all look like great snack ideas and super tasty, win win!
Pear and blueberry smoothie! The thought of that combo sounds delicious.
These are some amazing ideas, instead of grabbing a pack of crisps (like I did today… guilty!) I will try these!

I like smoothies/juices, chia puddings, hummus and homemade energy bars/balls as snacks.
That mug cake looks so good!
I get Graze boxes delivered to work as 4pm is my I-want-a-snack time and they make it really easy to have something healthy and resist someone’s birthday treats in the work kitchen! x
I have some nuts soaking ready to make nut and date snack balls- I have really been fancying them lately.
I have a few different cereal bars in my bag for work- my faves at the moment at rude health pumpkin bars, nakd crunch bars and bounce balls, or clif bars.
