Last week I finally got round to sorting out my little man’s passport, it was just one of things that I kept putting off, but I’m glad that I have now and hopefully we will beat the summer holiday rush. Now that all the official stuff is out the way and hopefully sorted, I can now think about where we are going to take our first holiday as a family of three.
As a couple, we like our holidays to generally offer a mix of relaxation on the beach and lots of long walks and sight-seeing to prevent any boredom, so we will be keeping that in mind when picking our destination. I feel a little scared about travelling with a baby and the amount of extra luggage we are going to take with us. One thing’s for sure is that I will remember to pack my holiday essentials that I always like to have when we’re away.

Who needs shampoo and shower gel when sunglasses and a gorgeous maxi dress are far more important to take with you on holiday…priorities!? I always need a big bag to stash all of my essentials in and I love the look the woven straw one above as it will also go nicely with my Breton striped tops and dresses. The current 1950s bathing suit trend looks so stylish and I really like this polka dot one, which looks very figure flattering and hugs you in all the right places. Equally as important is an amazing book, even though I’ve read Cutting for Stone before I could easily read it again as it has become a favourite of mine. A good camera is a must to capture all of those special moments and I like the idea of a card holder instead of a bulky purse to hold all the vital necessities.

I love the photo, its gorgeous! My holiday essentials are books and suncream, I cannot live with out either on holiday! No we havent booked any holidays this year, We have so much to do around the house and garden that I think we will be having a DIY holiday this year. Have fun on your holidays!

A DIY holiday sounds fun and super productive. I have considered throwing s DIY party at my house before to help get things done, although the end result might be messy. 😉
What lovely holiday essentials. My little man is 3yrs old so my holiday essentials look a little different- diggers and dump trucks, plenty of changes of clothes for him and a couple of things for me if there’s any room in the case! We go to Spain in 10 days!

My holiday essentials when we went to Turkey last month were my Kindle, lots of factor 50 sun cream and a pack of cards for playing on the balcony, bliss!
Yes, suncream really should be on my essentials list too…ooops! 🙂

Love the card holder – I agree sometimes it sucks to have to a big bulky purse. Sometimes you want to take a small handbag out!
It’s so pretty! I can’t be doing with extra baggage when I’m on holiday…it really weighs you down.
A good book is always at the top of my packing list. I am not sure what to take to Thailand with me this year.

Sunglasses are a must for sure! And definitely a camera. I use my iPhone camera because it’s more convenient but this summer I would like to save up and buy a SLR camera. I used to have one but I never used it so I ended up selling it! What a mistake!
I use my iPhone camera a lot too as it’s so much more light weight than my DSLR camera.
