If you are anything like me, and I think that I speak to most first time mums here, I didn’t know what to expect where maternity fashion is concerned.  Let’s face, it hasn’t had the best reputation in the past.  Often big and flouncy and without an ounce of real fashionable style. Thank goodness that it has come on in leaps and bounds in recent years. Wearing a large tent over your bump does nothing to instil you with body confidence when you are already feeling huge with your blooming pregnancy bump. 

Wearing nicely fitted and fashionable maternity wear that doesn’t stray too far from my usual style has been key for me for boosting my body confidence.  I have a whole blog post coming up on this topic soon, but it’s amazing the effect that nice clothes can have.  One thing that I have found with maternity clothes is the high prices. There is definitely a niche in the market for affordable maternity wear.  Enter the new maternity range at George at ASDA.

The range seems to have everything covered to create a capsule maternity wardrobe. Wardrobe staples such as maternity leggings, jeans, t-shirts, maxi dresses and longline tops have all been included, as well as maternity and nursing bras. For the length of time that I will be wearing maternity clothes I certainly didn’t want to be paying an arm and a leg for them, which is where I think this new range comes into its own.  I just wish that I had known about it earlier on in my pregnancy.
