Happy Easter everyone! I hope you’re all enjoying the long weekend. I’m really lapping up the rest and relaxation after a busy couple of days trying to get things wrapped up before the holidays. There have been lots of lovely moments this week though including getting much-needed new tyres on my car, a shopping trip with my mum and a spectacular brunch with our mummy friends. The Parisian breakfast that also came with a croissant was epic, it was safe to say that I was completely but happily stuffed afterwards – the walk around the shops afterwards was essential!
Also, Aiden officially started weaning this week as he turned 6-months old on Friday. His Trip-Trap arrived mid-week, which he seems to love and I’ve stocked up on all the relevant weaning equipment. So far, his taste buds have had the experience of trying avocado, banana and plain porridge and his favourite so far, sweet potato. Weaning is seriously messy and so much fun at the same time!
For breakfast this week I’ve loved my porridge because the mornings have been pretty chilly this week. These cherry bakewell style oats made with frozen cherries and unsweetened almond milk topped with almonds, coconut and Chocshot were utterly delicious!
Simple banana porridge made with unsweetened almond milk and topped with raspberries and Chocshot.
One of my go-to salads for lunch and for dinner one time, this week was this one with puy lentils, red pepper, spring onion, feta & mixed leaves. I always find puy lentils to be much hearty than green lentils for some reason and they go great with feta cheese…well doesn’t everything?
This salad is full of my favourite things! Lambs lettuce, rocket, roast chicken, avocado, feta cheese and Sabra hummus that was on offer in Sainsbury’s. I’m not sure what it is about Sabra hummus, but it’s much richer and creamier than any other hummus especially my homemade versions; I would love to know their secret recipe.
I have been feeling the cold a bit so I’m still loving my soups for lunch to mix up the salads. This was a fresh shop-bought one with lots of Thai spices, chicken and coconut that really hit the spot.
For some reason, this green smoothie came out super creamy like a milkshake and I think it’s because I put in too much vanilla protein powder, it tasted fab! I whizzed up in my blender vanilla protein powder, strawberries, banana, spinach, almond butter and unsweetened almond milk.
Holy yum…that is all!
Dinner’s have been all about simplicity and speed and this harissa salmon with roasted baby potatoes and veggies sauteed in butter, lemon and garlic was just that. I think it might become a regular meal in our house because Alfie enjoyed it too.
My plans for today involve lots of these pretty speckled eggs, a duvet, baby snuggles, spring lamb for Easter lunch, baking and back to back DVDs and not much else. I hope you all have a lovely Easter Sunday and that there is a lot of Easter egg face planting action going on.
It felt like such a treat as I rarely go out for breakfast, but do you go out for breakfast often? What is your favourite breakfast treat?
Which Easter eggs will you be munching on today?

Some gorgeous dishes here. Weaning is always a fun and messy time. Good luck with that!
It’s definitely both fun and messy, loving it so far!
We made some jelly rainbow eggs so we will be trying some of those today.
Happy Easter!
They sound lovely, hope you had a nice day.
Easter bonnets made, easter egg hunt done, now off to roll our eggs down the closest hill. The little love all these traditions!
That all sounds like lots of fun. I hope you all had a wonderful Easter.
I love going out for breakfast- I think it is so much more relaxing than dinner out somehow- you tend to be left alone and you have the rest of the day ahead of you still. Pancakes, waffles, or an almond croissant- I am not to fussy so long as tea is in there somewhere!
I think you have a point about it being more relaxing, especially the getting ready part. No stress of picking an outfit and doing your hair and make-up…no faff eat out is the way forward!
Every Meal looks so delicious! Especially the mini eggs! As they are my favourite and the one thing I look forward to during the Easter season. Happy Easter!
I polished the whole bag off over Easter and enjoyed every single one. They’re my favourite too. 🙂
All your food from this week looks delicious and nutritious.
I love the sabra hummus, I know what you mean it does taste really different to other brands 🙂

We need to get our hands on their secret recipe!
I love brunch!
The drink you made looks delicious.
We were supposed to go out for breakfast Easter Sunday morning but just couldn’t face the inevitable crowds of other people who’ve already been over indulging.
That harissa salmon looks and sounds delicious too.
Brunch is such a lovely treat and will be definitely doing it again in the future. 🙂
I think generally speaking having breakfast out in the UK is quite disappointing. It’s usually just a fry-up affair at most places, unless you find somewhere very unique (and usually expensive!) to get more variety. Other countries do it so well – like France and of course America. But your brunch looks fabulous!
I very rarely go out for breakfast as our banana pancakes are soo good! Especially when I convince James to make them for me 😉
That salmon supper looks really delish
