It’s been another beautiful weekend and it looks like sunshine is going to be here for a while.

Oxford is always beautiful, but it the sunshine just makes it look that extra little bit special.  I’m so lucky to live in such a pretty part of the world.

I woke up early yesterday to head to the gym.  Its seems this week I have been really loving the treadmill at the gym:

Monday: REST

Tuesday: 35 minute run on the treadmill and 10 minutes of yoga and core work.

Wednesday: Hip opening yoga flow (25 minutes)

Thursday: REST

Friday: 30 minute walk

Saturday: 30 minute run on the treadmill and upper body workout

Sunday: 15 minute run on the treadmill, 15 minutes on the cross trainer and a lower body workout.

After my gym workout yesterday I headed into town for a spot of shopping and a general look around.

I decided to wear one of my favourite floral dresses with my new gladiator sandals. Feeling the sun on my legs rather than through tights and leggings was lovely.

Eating breakfast out isn’t something that I do very often so I thought I would treat myself with a leisurely breakfast in Pret.  My favourite almond croissant with a hazelnut soya latte and coconut water went perfectly with my new book.

I did buy a few things for my honeymoon later in the year including these safari shorts in the sale at Gap.  As soon as I got home I put them on as it was far too hot for that dress. I’m definitely going to be buying some more shorts like this as I love the style and they are not too short or revealing.

When I head in to town I always hit the amazing Covered Market for fresh produce and organic meat.  I couldn’t carry much home with me though because of these delicious melons that I bought.  Dragging these bad boys  back home was a workout in itself!

Iced cold water with slices of lime were much needed in yesterday’s heat:

We’ve had so many BBQ’s over the past couple of weeks including one only last weekend.  After spending the whole afternoon in the garden me and Alfie decided to have a small BBQ for just the two of use.  I made some harissa burgers using pork mince and we cooked up some cranberry and rosemary sausages that I picked up from the farmer’s market.

There was also salad, wedges, plantain and fried onions.  This BBQ for 2 was really awesome, I just love this style of cooking.

For dessert I raided the freezer for one of my Frozen Strawberry and Lemon Cheesecakes with some frozen cherries:

The filling of the cheesecake is almost like ice-cream, heaven!

On Friday night for dinner I made this super tasty spring onion, courgette and feta omelet and followed it with some dark chocolate in front of the TV.

Well I’m off out now to do a small grocery shop and I’ve also got a bit of baking planned to use up some very ripe bananas. I love weekends where I just go with the flow and just do things that I enjoy with no time restraints as opposed to when I am busy.

Do you eat breakfast out very often?  I loved leisurely eating my breakfast in Pret as I read my book.  It could easily become a regular thing.

What have you been getting up to this weekend?

What kind of foods do you eat to keep you cool in the sunshine?
