This week I’ve felt like a hamster on a wheel, it’s just been go, go, go!
It has felt like a bit of a tornado with work this week, but I can’t complain as I love it. The week got busier towards the end, which I will explain in more detail later on. There has been lots of recipe testing in my kitchen this week, including this Mexican inspired dish that I’ve developed for a website. I can’t say too much about it, but it’s really yummy!
Despite being busy I’ve actually eaten some pretty tasty food:
This banana and butterscotch protein green smoothie topped with blueberries, pumpkin seeds, dark chocolate sauce and peanut butter was so refreshing. All the ice that I put in it made it really cold, which was great as the heat has been insufferable for me this week.
One meal that was a highlight of my week was these homemade beef meatballs with a homemade sauce and courgette pasta. Using courgette ribbons made using a potato peeler is a great way to add more veggies into a dish.
The heat has being making me really tired this week, but it has been nice to eat outside. I had lunch Alfresco one day this week and it felt like such a treat.
Pistachio, strawberry and caramel gelato to cool down in the heat, yum!
One evening this week it did actually rain pretty hard and became cool, so I made a walnut and pomegranate lamb stew and served it with herbed cous cous and red chard.
My favourite snack this week has been lots of berries – I can’t get enough! I actually snacked on a whole punnet of cherries whilst waiting for Alfie to get his hair cut the other day. They’ve made great desserts with some Lindt salted caramel chocolate too.
Nando’s avocado and green bean salad, which was actually really nice.
More summer berries with a banana, Greek yoghurt, crunchy peanut butter, agave nectar and coconut water to rehydrate on a hot and balmy morning.
This week my workouts have looked like this:
Monday – REST
Tuesday – morning gym session (10 minutes gentle cardio and strength routine – bicep curls, shoulder presses, chest presses, squats against the wall and weighted bum raises, plus yoga stretches)
Wednesday – REST
Thursday – 30 minute walk
Friday – morning gym session (10 minutes gentle cardio and strength routine – bicep curls, shoulder presses, chest presses, squats against the wall and weighted bum raises, plus yoga stretches)
Saturday – 4 hours shopping is definitely exercise in my opinion!
Sunday – Prenatal yoga session
Given that my week has been pretty crazy I’m really happy that I managed to fit in what I did to be honest. I’m looking forward to some relaxing yoga later today.
I can’t believe that I’m 30 weeks pregnant already! There has been lots of movement again this week and baby hiccups too, which were really cute. He’s been moving against Alfie’s hand a lot too and seems to love moving to the music that I’ve been playing him. The heat has been a bit insufferable at times, but I’ve been cooling down with ice-cold water, fruit from the fridge, smoothies and wearing light summery clothing.
Things have finally come together in the equipment department and the essentials that we need for his arrival are all on order. Items such as a playmat and swing we are going to leave for when he is born as their not really deemed necessary. I’ve been stocking up on toiletries for him too like this Baby Bee Starter Set and Weleda Calendula Baby Lotion that I’ve been set to review. Also, his cot will be bought when we decorate the nursery. He’s going to be in with us for about 6 months so there is no rush in that department either. It’s such a relief to get everything sorted finally. I’ve also booked in my bump shoot with my wedding photographers, a free breast-feeding course and decided on my antenatal classes too, phew!
Well, this is my last post before I hit the beach tomorrow. We booked a late deal to Kalkan on Thursday, which was why my week got crazy busy at the end trying to get everything organised for it. Thankfully my midwife has confirmed that I’m fit to fly as I’m so ready for this holiday. It’s the last that we will be taking without our baby boy. I think it’s what our American friends call a ‘Baby Moon.’

I do have a couple of posts scheduled over the two weeks, including the recipe for these decadent, but healthy Peanut Butter Cup Protein Brownies – you need these in your life! You will be able to catch-up with my holiday fun as I will be updating my Instagram, Twitter and Facebook feeds so look out for those.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend and I’ll see you on the other side!
If your pregnant or have children, did you feel a huge relief after getting all of the important equipment sorted?
How organised are you with holidays? Ever book any last-minute deals that leave you a bit flustered?

I hope you have a great time on holiday!
Oh, that gelato looks amazing too.
Have a great trip!
yummm, your what i ate food posts always make me drool! 🙂
Have a lovely holiday 🙂
I always get a bit nervous before a flight, and I worry about forgetting things so I like to pack in advance and make lists.
One year for my birthday Andy surprised me with a trip to Paris- I knew we were going away but thought it was in the UK. I was really nervous as I had not mentally prepared myself for going on a plane! I think that is the last time he would do that! As I have to stick by the term dates we would not generally go anywhere last minute as we have to book ages in advance to get a cheap enough deal.
You are absolutely glowing! I have a special place in my heart for pistachio gelato… just sayin!
yummy!
All of that food looks so good! We’ve been a little too lazy this week and had carryout. 🙁
You always eat the best food. You are DARLING by the way.
Your food posts always leave my stomach growling! I love it! You look great! I hope you enjoy your last ten weeks before your little guy gets here! On the topic of organization, I am just an all together spaz. I try to plan, but if J is involved, then we just are spontaneous!
Can you plan my meals for me?! 😉
Have a lovely holiday and totally chill out 🙂
