Do you ever struggle to make healthy food choices at work meetings or events?
Sometimes it can be hard to find something suitable on the menu when you are trying to be healthy. I think at times like these it’s best to take a more balanced approach and make the best choices that you can and don’t worry about it. A little perspective can go a long way, one unhealthy meal isn’t going to cause you any trouble in the weight department if that is a concern for you, especially if you eat well the majority of the time. Please don’t feel guilty if all they had on the menu that appealed was a burger, fries and a token side salad, just enjoy every bite and balance things out later on.
Holiday Inn have recognised the want for healthy meal options at work meetings and events. Recently they have been awarded an accreditation by ‘Food for the Brain’ for their new Food and Beverage philosophy. Studies (at Manchester Metropolitan University) investigating the effect of food at meetings on attendees found a 20% increase in mental capacity and competence from those eating the Holiday Inn menu. The Food for Thought menus have now launched across 57 of Holiday Inn managed hotels in the UK.
To give you an idea of what’s on offer, the Food for Thought menus are composed of nutritionally balanced dishes which are freshly prepared on the day using quality ingredients. The majority of the ingredients are from British suppliers and sustainable sources. Also, the staff are well trained and can help you make the right food choices should you suffer from a food intolerance.
The menu is packed full of offerings to help you stay focused throughout a busy and stressful work meeting. Meals are inclusive of ingredients such as vegetables, salads, hummus, grains, whole foods, grilled fish, meat, tofu, rice and potatoes, providing you with a nice healthy and nourishing lunch or dinner. There are also treats for dessert such as the forest fruit and pear gratin, carrot cake and American style pancakes. Even the morning and afternoon breaks have been well thought out if you’re attending an all day event, fruit, nuts, seeds, dried fruits and freshly baked cookies are on stand by all day too.
You can see more details about the Food for Thought menu in the following video:
Have you been to a work event/meeting and have been disappointed with the menu choices? Do you think eating the right foods can help you stay focused?

I usually enjoy your blog but i think it is a shame you feel the need to do so many blog posts in association with companies. It undermines the credibility of some of your other posts due to the frequency. Get back to what you’re good at – your own original thoughts.
Hi Rhiannon! Thanks for taking the time to comment. Sorry that your feel that way. I do try and get a good mix of my own posts and sponsored content and make sure that it is relevant and something that would be useful to my readers. All of my review/sponsored posts are always full of my own original thoughts, otherwise I wouldn’t post them on my blog. I always welcome readers views and will definitely take your comment on the frequency of such posts on board. Hope you continue reading. 🙂 x
Good for Holiday Inn!
I agree, it can be hard to find a healthy option on the menu sometimes when eating out, but I don’t let it worry me if I have the occassional unhealthy meal. The Holiday Inn menu looks good- not somewhere I’d usually go to eat though.
