Hello lovely people, hope you are all enjoying your weekends! I’ve had a lovely time viewing the images from Aiden’s newborn photoshoot – they’ve come out so well and he looks super cute in them! We have also been spending time with the family and generally just chilling out.

Last weekend we attended my besties wedding and she looked gorgeous. She asked me to be her bridesmaid and I was so chuffed to even to be considered, I jumped at the chance. I’m the girl who became a bride before a bridesmaid. Most of the weddings in my family happened before I was born, so any chance of being on bridesmaid duty was pretty much blown.
Getting the opportunity to get out of my pajama bottoms/leggings and glammed up in a beautiful dress felt like such a treat after having a baby. I loved the Grecian maxi style dress that was chosen for the bridesmaids. It was such a fun wedding and my little man got a lot of attention from the ladies which he loved.
Alfie and I raided the sweetie buffet, which came in handy for our movie marathon the next day. The sweetie buffet was full of old fashion favourites that reminded me of the Woolworths pick ‘n’ mix that I loved as a kid. The white mice and fizzy cola bottles were my favourites.
It’s been very chilly in these parts recently and soup has been my preferred choice for lunches. I made this curried carrot soup from left over veggies that needed using up before the weekly grocery shop was delivered. So simple, but it really hit the spot!
Talking of my grocery shop I managed to pick up a selection of Coyo coconut yoghurts. I had a pot of the mango flavour with my breakfast yesterday with some Kashi Go Lean cereal and fresh blackberries.
During my entire pregnancy the one thing that I have really missed food wise is runny egg yolks, they are just the best. I’ve drowned myself in runny yolks since giving birth and have had fried eggs for breakfast or lunch every other day. I love them paired with creamy avocado and cherry tomatoes.
Nakd have just released two new flavours in their range: Christmas Pud and Bakewell Tart. I’m a big fan of these bars as they are free of nasties and are very wholesome. I managed to find the Christmas Pud bar quite easily, but the Bakewell Tart one is far more elusive. In all honesty I enjoyed the Christmas Pud bar, but wasn’t convinced that it replicated the Christmas pudding flavour well. I’ve since got my hands on the Bakewell Tart version and these bars are spot on!
It looks like such a beautiful day outside so I’m thinking that a nice walk and maybe another Pumpkin Spiced Latte coffee date with my favourite little guy is in order. Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!
How many times have you been a bridesmaid? Did you like the bridesmaid dress that you wore?
Do you have a favourite old-fashioned sweet?

You look beautiful Jemma! The dress really suits you and the sweetie bar sounds amazing.
Argh those Christmas bars are yet to hit Bristol, I’m desperate to try them!
Thanks Claire, I iove the dress and was very grateful that there wasn’t a luff ball sleeve in sight.
You look so beautiful in that dress, and many congratulations to your best friend! 🙂 I’ve never been a bridesmaid, but have been a flower girl a couple of times ahha :p These aren’t really old fashioned but I still love the classic sweets you get in a pick and mix :p x
Thank you! You cannot beat a good pick n’ mix, yum!
Palma violets for me! I love them! I bought a tub of 100 from amazon, haha.
Your food looks so healthy and yummy!

I was never a fan of palma violets they always tasted funny to me. Glad you can get a huge tub from Smazon.
That dress is so pretty- glad you had such a lovely day.
I have only been bridesmaid once- to my Nan, as she got married when I was about 6.
Loads of weddings have sweetie bars now- such a good idea!
So lovely that yiu got to be a part of your Nan’s special day. Sweetie buffets are very popular now. We had one at iur wedding and it went down a treat.
I still can’t find the bakewell tart bar!! I’ve been a bridesmaid once for my aunt when I was 11, actually it’s the only wedding I’ve ever been too. One of my best friends is getting married next year and I’m going to be a bridesmaid at that, so I guess I’m 2 for 2.
The Bakewell one is so hard to find. Luckily Tesco sell it and I ordered a couple in my online shop.
Love the Grecian dress – you look beautiful!
I’ve been a bridesmaid at my sister’s wedding. I loved getting all dressed up and being an integral part of the ‘show’ 😉
Ahhh a sweet buffet, I love them at weddings! We had one at ours and it went down so well.
i have been a BM so far.. 4x!!! haha, i love the dresses except for one. All the other 3 were same color but different styles for us girls. I love that idea! that way everyone feels and looks to their best. I know its difficult for all body types to wear one particular dress.
What a beautiful dress! You look gorgeous 🙂
I can’t wait to try the Christmas pud Nakd bar and now the Bakewell Tart one – I didn’t even know the Bakewell Tart bar was a thing!
You look beautiful in your bridesmaid dress! I’ve still not been a bridesmaid but maybe one day. I am intrigued by the new Nakd bar flavours, not a fan of Christmas pudding but definitely need to track down the Bakewell Tart one! x
