Men have their Hawaiian shirts to get them in the mood for a holiday, but I’m personally not convinced that most of us ladies could pull them off so well. I know that there are many out there that like to buy men’s clothes and re-style them. I’m sure the more fashion forward amongst us could actually style them and rock them pretty well – perhaps tied at the bottom in to a cropped shirt?
Unfortunately, I live in the not-so fashion forward camp. I adore fashion and get lots of inspiration from Pinterest and other blogs, but I’m not so good at giving clothes new life by getting crafty with them. If you’re like me and fancy a hint of the tropics in your wardrobe, rather than up-styling your dad’s or partner’s Hawaiian shirt there’s a plethora of tropical prints on the high street. I’ve picked out some of my favourites below:
1. Tropical scuba print trousers, Warehouse
2. Megan floral casual shoes, Accesorize
3. Tropical flippy silk shorts, Topshop
4. Rave days collar statement necklace, Accessorize
5. Scuba dress, H&M
6. White tropical print drop print cami, New Look
7. Tropical print dress, New Look
8. Tropical printed dove top, Ted Baker
9. Button Earrings, Etsy
10. Tropical flower ring, Thomas Sabo
11. Tropical forest cross the body bag, John Lewis
Understandably, this look isn’t for everyone and it’s very easy to go overboard and end up looking like a tropical parrot, hence the inclusion of accessories. I think with this look it’s nice to have a touch here or a touch there. Although having said that I’m actually wearing a bright tropical print maxi dress as I sit here and write this. Tropical print doesn’t have to be bold and bright. I’m really in love with the forest cross the body bag from John Lewis, it has a real vintage twist.
Are you good at up-styling and getting crafty with old/borrowed items of clothing?
Do you think you could pull off head-to-toe tropical print?

I’m not sure top to toe tropical print is really ‘Me’ but I’d love to turn up to school one day dressed that way just to see what the kids thought!
some great picks there. I am loving these tropical prints that are in. If only I was going somewhere more exotic than to a festival 😛 xx
What gorgeous finds, I love the necklace and Ted Baker top! Tropical prints are so summery so I’m not surprised they’re popular at the moment! xx

Woah this is really not me. Far too many patterns and colours! I’m more of a monotone kinda girl…
I don’t tend to buy stuff from charity shops either as I’m really not that good with getting creative and jazzing things up. I guess I’m quite boring!!
I think I need to hire you as my personal stylist Jemma because I just LOVE pretty much everything you put in these Fashion Friday posts. You don’t usually choose things I’d pick out for myself but I think you have such a good eye!
I need that patterned shoes in my life, and the bag is gorgeous.
I love all the tropical prints. I might have to get myself some for when we go to Jamaica in October.

I’m not a big fan of tropical prints for me, I do like the ring though.
So cute and so summery! Love them!
I don’t think I could pull off that much print. That dress is so pretty though!
I would wear a top with prints- Animal do some nice summery vests, but I don’t think I would wear a dress or trousers.
Super cute outfits! I love bright colors! <3
I love that necklace and the earrings! So beautiful.
Bahahaha, tropical parrot. I can’t stop laughing.
