What a fantastic weekend it has been! The weather as been scorching over here in the UK and I’m all set for the 30 degree heat today. I love it when the sunshine I virtually leap out of bed.
On Friday night we headed to Telford for my sister-in-laws 21st birthday party the following day. We took a detour to Bicester Village on the way to pick up some gifts.
I walked away with a little gift myself. My graduation is in a few weeks and I wanted to buy myself something to mark the event. My lovely husband bought me a gorgeous chronograph watch from Michael Kors.
I’m in love with it!
I’ve wanted a chronograph watch for like forever so this is the perfect gift. I’m a very lucky girl! =)
The BBQ preparations were in full swing early on yesterday morning. We did a massive food shop in the morning so it was definitely going to be an epic BBQ. We were sipping Pimm’s a virgin mojito cocktail all afternoon.
It was a such a lovely day with all the family and I got to spend lots of time with these cheeky monkeys:
My nieces always manage to tire me out. They are just little balls of energy and I can’t keep up. They had a great time playing in the sunshine. My little nephew was sleeping when we took this pic, but at 18 months old he’s very energetic too.
On to the food…
…and there was a hell of a lot of it! There was all different kind of meats imaginable, salads, breads and plantain. There was going to be tilapia fish at one point too, but I think we finally realised that we had enough food to feed an army.
I had some barbequed pork chops, salad and some pizza bread that we picked up from M&S. There was some spare ribs and plantain thrown in too. Everyone was completely stuffed afterwards and we spent of the rest of the afternoon in the garden listening to music, chatting and playing with the kids.
At some point I did take some time out to read my book in the sunshine and I had a sneaky nap in the evening too. My body must of sensed that the birthday cake was ready as I woke up as soon as the candles were lit. The cake was a lovely white chocolate cake. I had a massive slice, it was little bit sweet but just what I needed to keep me awake on the late night drive home.
Undoubtedly, after all of that food and cake I have been chugging on the green juice this morning. It was nice to just let go and fill my face with so much delicious food!
Do you have big family get togethers often? What do they usually involve?
How have you been enjoying this incredible weather?

I love Bicester Village, they do such fab things at great prices. Have to stop going too often or I’d go crazy in Mulberry and Cath Kidston! Your watch is beautiful and so deserved after all your hard efforts. Enjoy the remaining sunshine of the weekend!
Thanks Claire. 🙂 Bicester is fab! Luckily I only live 10 minutes away! 🙂
that’s a stunning watch! I’m the same with sunshine, I love it and have been trying to make the most of these past few days, since the wheather here in Belgium has been very fickle. Your weekend sounds fab!
Thank you! It was a gorgeous weekend I hope that you enjoyed yours too,
Oh wow I love that watch! So nice.
It’s been perfect weather for a BBQ. We had a one today and it was so good. But I am stuffed! Glad you had a fun day 🙂
I’m always stuffed at BBQ’s I think that is just part of it 🙂
The weather is awesome, although yesterday was warmer than today in Dublin, just hope the weather lasts. I was working today so couldn’t really enjoy it!
I hope that it lasts too. Fingers crossed that you get to enjoy it!
This weather has been fantastic! Being outside is just lovely- we sat out in Andy’s parents’ garden yesterday afternoon and it was so relaxing.
That sounds perfect. I’m loving this weather!
That watch is beautiful. The weather has been amazing this weekend – I can’t remember the last time I spent so much time outside! x
