Well we are finally set for Christmas in this house…
We had the fire going again last night…it’s so festive. It’s definitely one of favourite features in our new home, even if it is a little messy. I’m a bit OCD with my cleaning but because the fire is so pretty I can just abut tolerate all of the ash that it makes. =)
During the week I picked up some more Christmas ornaments from Sainsbury’s of all places, to put up around the house to make it even more festive.
This gorgeous reef is hanging on our door. I love the non-traditional look of it. It’s very rustic looking with all of the hessian action.
These Noel tea lights are so pretty when they are all lit up. We have had them on pretty much every night lit with Christmas scented candles. With these lit, the fire going and the Christmas lights twinkling out living room looks amazing and super Christmassy.
My meals have been a little bit random this week but here are my favourite picks from the crop:
1. A super quick and easy veggie chilli with steamed broccoli
2. natural yoghurt with Dorset Cereal’s muesli and clementines
3. Pear and vanilla oats
4. Berry smoothie topped with hazelnuts and Nutella
5. Bramley apple sausages with crushed potatoes, roasted squash, steamed broccoli and red onion gravy.
This week has also involved wrapping Christmas gifts, writing and posting cards, baking lots of cookies and making lot of family orientated plans for the festive season.
My wonderful blog sponsors Popchips also sent my a gift in the post, a pack of their new Thai Sweet Chilli flavour, yum!
I’m only working 2 days this upcoming week, which means that I can buy the last of my presents and get all of my Christmas baking out of the way. My family are coming over for a meal, so that is going to be fun getting ready for that.
I love this time of year…can you tell?
Are you all set for Christmas now?
What do you have planned for the festive season?

What kind/ brand of oats do you find to be the best?
Your Christmas decorations are beautiful! x
I think your fire looks wonderful, I have always wanted a real fire but I’m like you and I think the ash would drive me a bit nuts 😉
Popchips sent me a bag of their new flavour to try as well. I haven’t opened them yet.
Your decorations are lovely.
I’m pretty much set for Christmas, all the gifts are bought, just have to wrap them. I need to do a lot of baking later in the week! I am heading home back to the UK next Saturday for 2 weeks, I absolutely cannot wait. Love your Xmas decorations.
I love those candle holders- they look so pretty when they are lit up 🙂
I am all ready now- just have to get through one week of work!
I love proper log fires 🙂 They’re perfect for this time of year, all cuddled up with a mug of hot cocoa……lovely 🙂
I would love to have a log fire one day. They’re so cosy and I find them totally captivating. I would much prefer to sit watching the fire than TV lol! Love the door wreath and Noel candle holders too!
I’m not prepared for Christmas at all. I still need to write Christmas cards. Better get on with that right now!
