I’ve wanted to write this post for a while, but never could seem to get my fingers to type out the words. Lately, I’ve thought a lot about the blog and the direction that I want to take it. The last 6 years of writing this blog has been incredible and I’m so grateful for the opportunities and friends that I have made along the way. However, as I’ve grown I feel it’s now time for the blog to align with said growth and evolve.
At the beginning of the year as I was setting out my business goals the list just seemed to get longer and longer. Seriously, there are so many things that I want to achieve this year and rather than kill myself trying to get it all done, I’m come to the decision to change my posting schedule. Again, I’ve wanted to do this ages ago, but felt like I was letting my readers down. However, I feel that this is the best thing for me right now.
So what does this mean for Celery & Cupcakes?
Nothing? The content will remain the same on the blog, but I will be just posting slightly less. Depending on client deadlines there will be weeks where I post more, but generally I will be sticking to two posts a week for now. There have been weeks where I’ve really pushed myself to the wire trying to get a post live, at a set time and day and to be honest it kind of took the fun factor out of blogging. Not only am I hoping this more relaxed posting schedule will result in taking some pressure off myself, but give me more time to create better quality content too.
Already, I’ve started to put some of these changes into action by revamping my newsletter, which you can sign up to here and put the wheels in motion resurrect my YouTube channel by posting videos more regularly. Also, I want to get more involved with Facebook Live, but always scared that I’m going to be there talking to myself; I’m now ready to get a grip and just put myself out there more. I’ll be sending out invites to these themed Facebook Live recordings in my newsletter, so watch this space!
Another thing that I want to do is make the content on the blog more focused and I will no longer be posting my Life In Rewind posts as they tend not to fit the overall theme of the blog. Admittedly, I was getting a bit bored of writing them (even though I liked their reflective aspect) because let’s face it, some months nothing really exciting happens in our my lives and there isn’t much to report back on. I’m addicted to Insta Stories and I post over there daily as a behind the scenes and what I’m up to, so you can see what I get up to from day-to-day.
Of course, as I previously mentioned there are also the plans to start my studies later this year, which has niggled at me for a while and I’ve decided that 2017 is the year that I’m going just do it. I really want to extend inspiring women to ditch the diets and embrace their version of balance and loving who they are beyond the blog. Qualifying as a nutrition or wellness consultant will allow me to manifest this and expand my business.
There are also plans to revamp the blog and give more talks to brands and workshops too. Seriously, I’m so excited for all these changes and I hope you enjoy seeing them all come to life over the next year.

Good luck on these new changes. I think it’s natural to be apprehensive with change but it’s needed for growth and unless we try we will never know the outcome.
Thank you lovely ! Yes, change is always such a scary thing, but we will never know if we don’t try.
Good luck with your new challenges in life! You have to make these decisions and do what’s best for you!! Change can be scary but I am sure you will do well!!
Thanks so much. I’m really looking forward to getting started with it all.
Good luck with your new challenges this year, it all sounds very exciting! x
Thank you! 🙂
All the best. Change can be a scary thing, but you will never know unless you take the leap x
Precisely. We just have to take that leap.
Congrats on the new direction that you’re taking your blog in! Changes like this can be difficult but are often very rewarding!
I think it’s going to be super rewarding and I cannot wait for everything to take shape.
Change can be scary but I also a good thing. I’m redesigning my blog soon and am awaiting a new blog design and logo first.
I can’t wait to see your new blog design.
I think change is always intimidating but everything is always changing, it;s just a matter of whether we embrace it and whether we are steering the way we the changes to happen. I’m very excited for you as you revamp the blog and begin your studies and I hope the changes you make bring you where you want to be x
Thanks so much Sarah! I love your approach to change.
Good luck with all the changes in your life, they sound really exciting! 🙂
Thanks Nikki!
Change does scare me but I think it is really fulfilling too and gives me something to get my teeth stuck into to make sure its a success!
I think the same, we need change to progress and improve ourselves.
Change doesn’t really scare me as I know that changes happen for a reason. Good luck with all your ventures x
That’s so great that change never scares you.
I’m happy you’re taking on this step. Blogging should be fun and inspire you, not drawn you in more work.
Good work-live balance is most important!
So true! Thanks so much for the encouragement.
Sounds good 🙂 Good luck, Jemma. I’m sure it’ll continue to go well. I find change quite hard but in the end it usually works out for the best. Life can become stagnant otherwise..
Thanks Anna! I’m really excited to make these changes happen. Change is such a good thing, if not scary.
Good luck with all the future plans you want to do more of, and I look forward to seeing how they all come together for you. I will miss your posts as I love reading them all, but I will have other methods of following you now including Instastories
THank you! I will still be posting here like normal, just a little less so I can focus on more behind the scenes stuff.
Good luck with the new changes! I re-branded my blog at the beginning of this year and have loved every step of it, as I’m more engaged with my own blog now!
Ps. your nails are so cute!
Kayleigh x

Good luck with the new changes! I am sure it will be a success.
Im trying to improve my blog more this year too.
These are good goals and I’m sure sticking to twice a week will be a great thing… Good look with youtube!
I think it’s always good to take stock and evaluate what your up to, enjoying and finding stressful. You will enjoy more what your doing if there is less pressure on yourself thanks for sharing X X
Change can be SO good, especially when it comes to blogging and what makes you happy. I’ve refined my content a little bit this year and I feel so much better for it, and really motivated too! Looking forward to seeing more of your lovely face on YouTube! xx
I love changing my blog up every now and then!
Good luck with the changes 🙂

I’m trying to focus on quality rather than quantity. It can be so easy to get bogged down.
Best of luck with your fresh start! Changes can definitely be scary but if it’s what your heart desires, then it’s worth it.
I love reading your posts – so positive and uplifting. I look forward to hearing more about what you do this year.It takes courage to stop doing things and prioritising so well done taking time to stop your rewind posts. My biggest leaps have been decision to reinvent my style or try to appear more confident when i’ve moved around growing up x
