We’ve had a better week over here compared to last week with our colds.  I made sure that we got out and about and we’ve had some lovely days out, mainly shopping which has been my exercise for this week! Alfie was off work this week and suggested that I had a couple of hours to myself and headed into to town to do some shopping.  I treated myself to a few bits, including some new skinny jeans and a gorgeous tartan blanket scarf and got some ideas for Christmas gifts.  It felt really weird to be away from my baby and I was happy to get home to him despite enjoying my shopping trip.

During my time out I headed to one of my favourite places to eat, Itsu.  I’d avoided it like the plague during my pregnancy, because the temptation to eat their sushi was far too tempting, but now post baby I’ll be reacquainting myself with it.  Instead of sushi this time I opted for the Thai Coconut Chicken as it as freezing outside and I needed to warm up.  This was right up my street and tasted fab!

I’m still on the fig train that I’ve been on over the past couple of months.  I had some with some natural yoghurt, chopped almonds and maple syrup for breakfast and again as a snack with some chocolate Coyo, Nutella and more chopped almonds:

Nutella and chocolate Coyo coconut yoghurt is a match made in heaven!

I’ve refound my addiction to feta cheese and had some crumbled on top of this salad that included mixed leaves, tomatoes, chickpeas, olives and avocado – a tasty alternative to my regular soup option for lunch.

This snack subscription box from SKNY landed on my doorstep this week to review, you’ve got to love foodie parcels.  I’ve been munching through this and have really enjoyed it so far.  Those Rosemary and Thyme Pitta Chips are so tasty!

On Friday, Alife had the insane notion to head over to Milton Keynes to start our Christmas shopping.  We want to get the bulk of it done early this year so that we can enjoy the run up to Aide’s first Christmas without any stress.  Of course, it was Black Friday, but surprisingly the shops weren’t overly busy as we had expected.  I feel really smug that we’ve actually finished the majority of our Christmas shopping with the exception of gifts for ourselves and Aiden’s gifts.  The majority of December can now be spent baking Christmas treats and watching lots of festive movies, rest assured that everyone has been catered for.  I love the run up to Christmas and glad that the gift buying is practically sorted.  I celebrated our Christmas shopping success with a mince-pie and a chai latte for the trip home.

Have you finished your Christmas shopping or even started yet? Did you have fun in the Black Friday sales?
