This week really has been about getting back to normality after the wedding celebrations…

Cleaning up natures mess

Alfie had the day off work yesterday too so we spent some tine in the garden raking up all of the fallen leaves from our huge Magnolia tree.  It’s really pretty in the summer, but boy is it messy in the autumn!

All of that hard work worked up an appetite so for lunch I made us my favourite Carrot and Red Lentil Soup.  I love this soup as it is packed fully of goodness and is a great source of protein from the red lentils, which makes it super creamy too.

My meals this week have been very much the norm, in the sense that I have gone back to my usual eating patterns pre-mini moon, where everything was treat based.

I’ve really tried to get some different snacks this week, especially at work.  I’ve been mixing Greek yoghurt with chopped pitted dates and I’ve also been enjoying apples with lots of plain almonds to snack on, those healthy fats are so filling.

Another snack that I have been enjoying is chopped persimmons with dried mango slices and chopped pitted dates.

This week I have cooked up some pretty tasty meals for dinner that both me and Alfie have enjoyed.

Oven baked Alaskan salmon with a mountain of stir fried veggies including spring greens, peppers, broccoli and spring onions in a honey, soy and lime sauce.

Lemon and herb roasted free range corn fed chicken with steamed greens and sweet potato chips.

Red, spring greens and cheese frittata with steamed broccoli

Oh and my breakfasts have also been pretty darn good too…

Green smoothie made using frozen raspberries, Chocolate and PB swirl protein powder, spring greens, almond milk and water.

Toasted wholemeal bagel topped with PB, chopped banana and chopped pitted dates with cardamom chai tea and almond milk, yum!

I’ve been drinking tea like a mad woman this week (no more than usual!) due to these new teas that I picked up when I was in Lyme Regis.  They are all so delicious.  The vanilla chai one has been feeding my chai addiction wonderfully! =)

A pretty decent week of eats I think.  The odd slice of wedding cake may have past my lips, but at least everything else that I was eating was pretty healthy so it didn’t feel as bad.  Everything has to be done in balance in mind after all. It’s been great getting back to my workouts too and I even looked at a potential gym this week too.  I cannot wait to get back to a gym.

Have a lovely weekend!

Do you find it easy to get back into a normal eating groove?

What are you up to this weekend?  I’m working, now that really is a crash back down to normality!
