I’m a little bit in love with Primark at the moment.  This was proven when I popped in on Saturday just for a pair of their bargain seamless leggings and ended up buying numerous other items.

More often than not, affordable fashion can mean badly cut clothes, poor stitching, cheap finishes and items that fall apart after one wash.  Let’s be honest, not everything in Primark is great, but they have really upped their game lately to produce fashionable pieces that are affordable and do not scrimp on quality.

Now that I have more experience when looking for affordable fashion, I’ve found that with some careful shopping great things can be picked up in cheaper clothes shops, as opposed to my personal favourites Topshop and Zara.

Ok, so here’s what I picked up at the weekend:

High waisted, tailored, black cigarette pants with gold hardware detail

Colbalt blue blouse with cut out detail

Jersey maxi dress in coral

Patch work blouse with faux leather panels

The black cigarette trousers are a really nice fit.  They are tapered, so fit like skinny jeans at the bottom.  I did feel a bit like Sandy from Grease in them at first and thought about a bigger size, but they’re not pulling anywhere or give me a muffin top so decided to stick with them.  I paired them with the patch work blouse and nude heels for an evening look.  Both of these items are going to be great for a sophisticated look for work too.

I’ve got a bit of a crush with the colour coral at the moment, Tart Deco by Essie has been my go to nail colour this summer.  When I saw the coral maxi dress I knew I had to have it. It’s great with a waist belt, navy blazer and sandals or just by itself for a more casual look.  This one will definitely be coming on my honeymoon with me.

I hit up the blue blouse as the washer machine had made holes in one that I already had from Zara in a similar colour…damn washing machine!  The colour just pops and I love the pretty cut out detail.  I’m looking forward to pairing this with some tailored shorts for an evening look on holiday.

I think Primark are doing a great job at the moment and if it wasn’t for that thing called self-restraint I would have been coming out with bags full.  If I remember correctly the equivalent of Primark in the US is called Penny’s. It’s one of my go to places for affordable fashion as it’s always worth looking at what they have to offer.

And just in case you were wondering, yes I did get the leggings too =)
