Dessert in smoothie form? Well, why not! Not only does this taste like everyone’s favourite afternoon treat, carrot cake, it also has one portion of vegetables to help you get to your 5-a-day quota.
The weather has been beautiful the past couple of days in the UK and I’m hoping that it’s going to stick around. However, if the unfortunate happens this brightly coloured smoothie is like sunshine in a glass, so even on a grey day, you can get a healthy and bright start.
Now I’m really excited about this recipe because it’s centred around my favourite meal of the day, breakfast! Who doesn’t love starting the day with a delicious meal to get them all kick started for the day? Me for one, however, I was seriously surprised when I discovered that so many of you simply don’t make time in your busy schedules to eat a decent breakfast.

- 2 grated carrots
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (5g)
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 heaped tsp of raisins
- juice of ½ an orange
- 2 tbsp ground almonds
- 500 ml almond milk
-
Pour all of the ingredients into a blender and blitz until completely smooth.
-
Serve and enjoy!

This looks deeelicious! I have a carrot cake smoothie recipe, however, it’s quite a bit different to yours! I love that you added orange juice into the mix as that would give it so much freshness and flavour!
Thanks, kate! The orange juice adds a lovely zing.
Who can say no to dessert in drink form – I actually am looking to sign up to weight watchers so this has just given me that extra motivation I need.
Yay! I hope it goes well for you.
This looks like a ray of sunshine captured in a glass.Really delicious.
Thank you! Especially on a grey day like today!
This carrot cake smoothie sounds and looks yummy. Must try this.
Thank you! I hope you try it soon.
Our best buy of last year was a nutribullet so we are a bit smoothy mad! We also needed breakfast options for J who has an intolerance to dairy, eggs and gluten which makes breakfast the most tricky meal. We will definitely be trying this as it covers all the bases and looks yummy!! xx
I have a Nutribullet too and love it! It’s so handy have on the side to make a smoothie in the morning.
I am always on board with dessert for breakfast. Loving the colour of this too!
Ha! Me too, it’s can’t be bad can it.
Your pictures are awesome and the recipe looks good too! I am trying to add more veggies to my smoothies. This may help me be able to do that.
Thanks, Missy! This is a great way to get more veggies in your smoothies because of the carrots.
I bet this tastes delicious no matter when you decide to drink it.
I think I would have to agree! 🙂
