Hands up if you’re a chocolate junkie?! Yep, me too, but don’t be ashamed because I’m not. Indulging in a little bit of what you fancy is actually a healthy approach to wellness as opposed to restricting certain foods which tends to be the main focus at this time of year.
I’m really not into the whole faddy diet thing and prefer to enjoy wholesome foods that nourish my body from the inside and help me to feel great. Chocolate is one of these foods and although I don’t eat it everyday I know that as part of a balanced lifestyle, it’s not going to do me any harm at all.
Eating the food that I enjoy without any inhibitions, such as chocolate is one of my favourite ways practise self-care and is why I created this recipe for Weight Watchers as part of their #WomanKind to encourage both existing members and potential members to be kind to themselves.

- 100 g of good quality dark chocolate
- 20 g pistachios
- 10 g dried cranberries
- 20 g hemp seeds
- 30 g dessicated coconut
-
Melt the dark chocolate on the hob or in the microwave.
-
Using a spoon create chocolate discs on some greaseproof paper, no bigger that a 2p coin.
-
Top liberally with your favourite superfoods.
-
Allow the chocolates to set before eating, if you can wait that long!
2 SMART POINTS PER BUTTON.
This is such a great way to pimp up that bar of dark chocolate that is sitting in your cupboard right now! I would use good quality dark chocolate to make these to get the added bonus from all those beautiful antioxidants. Like always, I always like to add a nutritional boost to my meals including my treats. It’s nice to know that I’m getting all that goodness from this mixture of superfoods from one of my favourite foods.
You can really go to town with these in terms of what you adorn your dark chocolate buttons with. If I had made my chocolate buttons bigger, I did fancy adding dried blueberries and sesame seeds too – definitely one to try next time! Good to know that they also store well in an air-tight container ready and waiting for when you need your next chocolate fix.
What are your favourite superfoods? How strong do you like your dark chocolate?

These look like a wonderful treat, but I reckon I would have to be careful to not go overboard!!!
Moderation is definitely key with all treats I think, but these are tasty so it can be easy to go overboard.
These look fantastic Jemma! I often make Chocolate bark but love the idea of buttons, perfect for this weekend too!
They would make a lovely Valentine’s Day gift – so easy to make too! 🙂
These look very yummy – and pretty too!
Thanks Emily! 🙂
Wow go you for introducing these to weight watchers! They look great, my biggest problem is word “moderation!” once I start I just can’t seem to stop myself
Ha! I think a lot of people struggle with that word, but it’s all about finding what works for you.
They look ridiculously good. In fact I was brought some posh chocolate at christmas last year and they look almost the same!
Mine didn’t contain any hemp seed though so maybe your will be better 🙂
Ooh nice to know that my buttons fall into the post league! 🙂 The hemp seeds do add a nice crunch.
These look so good. A delicious treat but love that they are healthy too! Have pinned and yummed!
Thanks Ciara. 🙂 I think giving yourself a chance to have a treat is a far more healthy outlook than restricting food.
I love these – what a creative idea and so many different things you can do with them too. I am obsessed with pistachios at the moment.
Thanks Dannii, the possibilities are endless with these.
These look amazing. I’m actually on Weight Watchers programme now so it’s great to know that I can still eat them.
Thanks! yeah it’s nice to know that you can eat chocolate in moderation and still be healthy.
