Hello, hello! I hope everyone is having a gorgeous Sunday! I’m not sure why, but I’m feeling incredibly run down at the moment. Perhaps too much burning the candle at both ends and prioritising work over self-care have all mounted up and brought on my cold. I’m trying to get as much done this month (including launching my first e-guide) so that I can enjoy what I hope will be a stress-free December on the run up to the festive season. I’m trying to squeeze in as much nutrition and healing properties in my meals at possible to help give me that energy boost that I’ve lacked over the past few days. Talking of food…
What I’ve Been Eating This Week
I took some time out for myself on Friday and popped out for some lunch which felt like such a treat! I had a delicious French onion soup with a homemade cheese scone. Afterwards, I couldn’t resist the temptation of the special Christmas drinks menu and ordered this beauty of a salted caramel hot chocolate, heaven!
The produce at this time of year is just brilliant and I love that persimmons are back in season. I had one chopped with a banana, figs, full-fat Greek yoghurt, dries cherries (new love!) and pistachios for breakfast.
I’ve been sent a selection of Kind bars to try. They make the perfect healthy snack with my afternoon tea. So far this salted caramel and almond bar has stolen the show, but the salted dark chocolate one may be a close second.
Outdoor reared smoked bacon with fried eggs with runny yolks (because there is no other way to have them) and half an avocado for some healthy fats is always a winning breakfast, especially at the weekend.
An oldie but a goodie! Toasted sour dough topped with cashew nut butter and a chopped banana never gets boring.
Finally, I got my hands on my first kabocha squash of the season from this lovely little deli that I found the other week. I chopped it up and roasted it in some coconut oil and been eating it all week even straight from the fridge as a snack. I’ve loved adding it to my salads with smoked mackerel, mixed leaves, cucumber, dried cherries and feta cheese.
This giant supercharged my morning earlier this week! It was full of kale, mango, banana, coconut oil, vanilla protein powder and unsweetened almond milk.
I picked up some of these giant dark chocolate buttons from the healthy food shop last week and they made the perfect movie munchies last night, love these!
This bowl just screams autumn to me with roasted kabocha squash and sprouts in coconut oil, red rice, dried cranberries and a drizzle of tahini. I’m so glad that I made a large portion of this so that there’s plenty left over for today.
MY MOVES THIS WEEK
Again another week with not much happening in the workout department, however, I am looking forward to doing some restorative yoga later today that will hopefully help kick-start my fitness plans for next week. After a two-week hiatus, I feel more than ready to get back to it and I’ve got my Garmin Vivofit to help track my progress that I’ve been asked to try.

We all need to step away from it all and take care of ourselves sometimes. Great post.
Absolutely Stella!
I like persimmons, too:_) December is also perfect for oranges and tangerines, they are really tasty:_)
Enjoyed reading your post! 🙂
Everything tastes so great at this time of year! Lovely to hear that you enjoyed the post, thank you!
Cold season is my favourite season of all! Hot dishes to warm you up and pumpkin spiced lattes to comfort you. All you dishes look so good! Fresh and delicious, the way it should be.
Thanks Lorraine! This season is perfect for the food. 🙂
You know how to breakfast in style! Yum! I’d love to get a fitness tracker, I must put it on my Christmas list!
I’m hoping that the fitness tracker helps to get my butt in gear. I think it may give me the push that I need at the moment.
I’m sorting of picking up that you like salted caramel – you are not alone 😉 Love those Montezuma big buttons. It tends to be our treat when going on a long car journey. It’s kind of hard staying healthy and cheerful when the weather has been as dismal as it has the last couple of weeks – keep hoping the sun might appear again one day.
Oh Choclette, is it that obvious! 🙂 It’s my total obsession, well anything sweet and salty actually. Good to hear I’m in good company with that one.
I need to try that kind nut bar, I am obsessed with there stuff.
They taste amazing!
I love my Vivofit. I like having that reminder of how many steps I have, or haven’t done. It gets me moving.
try to make some time for yourself this week 🙂
I’m definitely yking some time out this week, thanks! 🙂 I’m looking forward to using the vivofit. I think it will give me te kick up the butt I need.
I have to say I’ve been completely put off the seasonal drinks when I saw an advert someone shared on FB about how many teaspoons of sugar each one had It was quite shocking! Though cake probably has even more…but I’d rather eat cake than drink a coffee. That said, it’s only really an issue if you have one every day I suppose!
Where do you find your kabocha squashes? Tesco never has them.
So true about the sugr, but they are tasty and such a lovely treat at this time of year. I’ve never been able to find kabocha squashes in Tesco. Waitrose stocks them and try your market or deli which is where I found mine.
I love dried cherries too, but some of them are more like big raisins- I think the tart ones are the ones with the actual cherry flavour.
I did have an almond hot chocolate (it was buy one get on free) but I still prefer a chai latte! I suppose if I liked coffee there would be more to try!
