Well, this has been another fun and jam-packed week!
After the family christening at the weekend I was pretty much playing catch up at the beginning of the week. Indeed it has been a very busy week, and included an extremely exciting blog project that involved going onsite and being followed by a film crew all day – sometimes I can’t believe my life sometimes! All will be revealed later this month and I cannot wait to share it all with you here on the blog. I seem to be in a really positive groove at the moment and happy with how things are progressing in all aspects of my life.
Talking about being in a positive groove the same can be said for my food too as I’ve had some tasty eats this week, like always it seems:
Whilst out shopping yesterday, we decided to dine al fresco for lunch. I ordered the Queen Margherita pizza that was just divine. Considering that I was so hungry by this point it’s no surprise that I polished the whole lot off the plate.

For evening snacks I’ve been getting stuck into my raw chocolate stash. I tried this new to me raw chocolate brand and although it’s not my favourite, it was pretty good. There has also been some raw chocolate experimentation in the kitchen and I’ve been diving into those too.
Some mornings have been absolutely miserable and all I have fancied is porridge. This was creamy porridge oats made with water and unsweetened almond milk, topped with Californian almonds, agave nectar, cinnamon and donut peaches.
On Friday night I fancied something really easy peasy for dinner. I oven cooked some venison sausages, steamed some broccoli and baked a sweet potato and topped it with butter for a simple but delicious meal.

It’s definitely the time of year for summery salads. Alfie and I had this mid-week and we loved it! Pan fried salmon in peri-peri spices with a homemade potato salad, mixed leaves, avocado and cucumber, yum! I think that we will be having this again if the sunshine sticks around for longer.
For snacks I have been making my way through this huge stash of Californian almonds as I’m taking part of a 21 day #snackhappy challenge. Over the next 21 days I will be having a bag of these portioned out almond pouches at home or on the go in the pretty tins and reporting if I feel any different afterwards.

Smoothies have been another highlight this week. This one was a strawberry and vanilla one. I had run out of spinach by this point, but quite liked the change of a fruit smoothie as opposed to a green one.
Organic natural yoghurt (full fat) with Lizzie’s original granola with fresh cherries made for a tasty and quick mid-week breakfast this week, delicious!
This week my workouts have looked like this:
Monday – prenatal yoga and stretching
Tuesday – morning gym session (20 minutes gentle cardio and strength routine)
Wednesday – REST
Thursday – afternoon gym session (20 minutes gentle cardio and strength routine)
Friday – 1 hour walk (2-3 miles)
Saturday – shopping now counts as exercise in my opinion!
Sunday – long walk in the countryside and prenatal yoga
I’ve been making the most of the sunshine this week and have been out on more walks in the countryside surrounding my house. The scenery is just so beautiful that it’s hard to resist. Although, despite my enjoyment, my legs do get a bit achy afterwards so yoga stretching has really helped with mitigating this.
This week my hospital bag arrived and it dawned on me how serious things are getting. Now at 25 weeks and with the third trimester in sight, things are rapidly progressing. Indeed, this s**t just got serious. There is just over 3 months to go until my due date and our little man will be here. Even though I’m really excited about everything that becoming a mother involves understandably it’s also very daunting too.
I had my 25 week check up with my GP this week, which is routine for first time mamas. Everything went really well and the baby is moving loads, it’s so lovely to feel and know that he is there. He’s very mischievous though and was actually kicking my GP’s doppler probe when in came to listening to his heart beat, like father like son eh? Hearing his little heart heartbeat is one of the most magical yet reassuring sounds in the world.

We headed to the shops this week to check that we still liked the travel system that we want to buy…and we do. I think we will probably purchase it in the next few weeks as it’s still a bit early yet. Whilst out we stopped off in Mamas and Papas where I fell in love with their cute Pixie and Finch range for boys. The Finch character reminded me of Alfie as he wears similar geek chic glasses. I bought the Finch character teddy, a hooded towel and a lovely soft striped blanket too.
I have another busy week planned including another exciting project this time in London. I’m going to spend today pottering in the garden and making refreshing juices and popsicles to help me cope in this warm weather. It’s making me very drowsy at the moment as well exacerbating my hay fever symptoms.
If you haven’t already, check out my guest post over on Miranda’s blog where I share my top tips for staying on track whilst on holiday!
Have a wonderful Sunday everyone!
How have you been staying cool during this warm weather? What is the best thing that you have eaten this week?

Ooh how exciting – movie star 😉 Love the look of all those meals! I’ve been eyeing up those lovechock bars – the packaging is gorgeous! What would be your number 1 recommended raw choc bar?
Hmmm…I love quite a few brands. Conscious chocolate has a lovely truffle like texture, very smooth. I also love IQ raw chocolate too. 🙂 Oh and lets not forget Raw Chocolate Pies either.
Your bump is blooming and looks very neat and tidy! I expect motherhood can be very daunting but so exciting like you say. 🙂
Thanks Elisa, I love my little bump 🙂
You have inspired me to give raw chocolate a try! Plus that sweet potato dinner looks lush! One question where is your beautiful floral dress from? 🙂
I got it from Warehouse a couple of years ago, but you may be able to find something similar. 🙂
Wow that pizza looks delicious. Your bump is blooming 🙂

How exciting 😀 I remember being 25 weeks with Oscar (not so much with Stacey as I was 24 weeks when I found out and the following days were a blur lol). It’s such an exciting time.
