Here’s another photo of my current favourite breakfast of wholemeal or sour dough toast with scrambled free range eggs, avocado and ketchup.  I have been having this a lot lately and so far haven’t tired of it.  I’m loving my bread at them moment, well carbs in general for breakfast – they just seem to hit the spot in the morning.

pb toast

I had another slice of toasted bread yesterday topped with peanut butter and a chopped banana with fresh strawberries on the side.  This was a OMG kind of yum! Other than toasted bread in the morning I have been making the most of some of my other favourite carbs such as porridge oats:

This was a lovely bowl of organic rolled Irish oats made with unsweetened almond milk, a chopped apple, whole almonds and pumpkin seeds.

I’ve also been hooked on snack plates this week too mixed in with my usual salads for lunch:

The organic red meat is part of the 3 for £10 offer in Sainsbury’s at the moment so I’ve been eating it like a trooper.  This was my favourite organic beef in a red sauce with lots of veggies on top of courgette pasta ribbons.  So yummy!

stir fry

Stir fries are a firm favourite in my house when I need to cook something fast.  I made my ginger, honey, garlic and soy sauce stir fry with chicken thighs, stir fry veggies and noodles.  This was perfect for a Friday night in front of the TV.

My workouts have been pretty laid back this week:

Monday – REST

Tuesday – walking around Oxford at night giving my brother a tour of our beautiful city

Wednesday – morning gym session (20 minutes gentle cardio and strength routine)

Thursday – Rest

Friday – Prenatal yoga session

Saturday –  morning gym session (20 minutes gentle cardio and strength routine)

Sunday – Prenatal yoga session

Since Easter Saturday we have had visitors everyday this week of various friends and family.  We did some visiting ourselves including a 2 night stay at Alfie’s mums house and visiting our friends new baby girl…so sweet!  It made for quite a fun but exhausting week, so I’m so happy that I managed to squeeze in some form of exercise.  My thighs and hips ached after walking around the city.  I definitely feel like a pregnant lady now!

My pregnancy updates are my favourite part of my Sunday recap post.  I’m now 19 weeks pregnant with only one week to go to the sex scan!

19 weeks

In this photo I’m actually wearing one of my vintage dresses that still fits my bump nicely! 🙂

This week has been great as we have been surrounded by babies, 3 gorgeous baby girls of our friends and family.  I picked up some great advice from my friends about their labour experience.  One had a water birth with only paracetamol, another went through labour with medical intervention and the third was in hospital too.  I’ve been reading a lot on labouring and I’m currently engrossed in The Kind Mama by Alicia Silverstone, great read.

Antenatal classes have been a priority this week and I’ve managed to find an awesome personalised natural birthing class in Birth ROCKS.  Much emphasis is put on the birth partner (Alfie) as well as the mother.  The course basically involves relieving any anxiety of the birthing process and making it a more positive and exciting experience. It teaches self-hypnosis for birth, breathing and positions for birth, and aromatherapy and much more.  The main thing that I love about this course is that it recognises each mother as an individual and not one birthing experience is the same, offering techniques that will help you through your own unique labour with what you want at the heart of it. I will report back on how I get on.

Hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekends! =)

Do you have a favourite carb that you have for breakfast? What is the best thing that you have eaten this week?

If pregnant or if you have already had a baby, what kind on birthing course did you decide on?
