This year the hubby and I are putting a lot of emphasis on spending more quality time together. We both lead ridiculously busy lives and often get home late during the week, come the weekend we are often too exhausted to go out and recuperate instead. However, we are making a conscious effort to reinstate our date nights. We have a list of different activities that have been proposed as date nights, some very ordinary and others completely random. Once a month we will go on a date night, which I don’t think will be too much of an ask.
This weekend will be our first date night of 2014 and I have put together a little outfit, if I had the spare cash right now I would be wearing it this weekend.
1. Tuxedo Jacket, H&M
2. Split Side Tee, Topshop
3. Leopard Print Cashmere Scarf, ThOutnet.com
4. Baxter Skinny Jeans, Topshop
5. Silver Opal Ring, Etsy
6. Millie Pearl & Bead Hardcase Clutch, Accesorize
7. Drum Roll Ankle Boots, Office
I remember that our first date was a trip to Nando’s and a movie, Hitch none the less. We went straight after work and I had just finished my 5-8 shift at the shop. Unfortunately, I didn’t bring any clothes with me to change into so I went in my work clothes, which were all black. Luckily Alfie worked in the same department store so he was in his work uniform too and he didn’t care at all. Wow! All of that seems so long ago, almost nine years later we are still together and married.
Do you remember your first date? What did you wear?

Awww how lovely – what are you doing for your date night? My first date with Mr PoP was at Costa coffee (we met online, so coffee in the early afternoon is always a safe first date as you can always make an excuse to escape if it’s awful!) and I wore black knee-high boots, black tights, a purple swirly dress, a black scarf and black mac style coat. It was the best first date ever, and we ended up spending the whole afternoon together – 14 months later and we’re still going strong and love our (irregular) date nights. Have a great time with Alfie on your date 🙂 x
I think my first date with Ben was a local (to me) pub. We had a tasty meal and just chatted for hours. He got lost driving home! Hehe.
Love that outfit – so so pretty.
Me and Nick went to see the Matrix 3 on our first date, we were still in school so I think we were both pretty casually dressed!
Love the scarf Jemma! James wanted to take me out to a fancy cocktail bar but I ended up working late so rocked up at 11pm in a black work dress, completely shattered and ordered a Diet Coke. Almost three years later I think he’s forgiven me!
