My house is looking a very festive at the moment and I love it. We have candles everywhere and twinkling fairy lights in abundance. They look so pretty. Getting even more into the Christmas spirit at the weekend I started to wrap up some of the gifts that I had bought.
Now I hit a right old dilemma when I was shopping for gift wrap in Sainsbury’s. I had my heart set on two completely different styles and I couldn’t make up my mind. In the end I bought both styles home and asked Alfie to choose. Call me a perfectionist, but this is my favourite time of year and I want everything to be spot on, even my choice of gift wrap.
Alfie went for the more rustic style of wrapping paper and I’m so glad that he did. It’s very different to my usual style, which the second option was close to. I’ve wanted to have try out this rustic style for a while now. I adore the non-traditional red polka dots on the paper and the ribbon and name tags make it look festive.
I’ve had some fun searching for some festive gift wrap inspiration:

Snow Flake Gift Wrap

Magazine Gift Wrap
Sheet Music Gift Wrap
All these images make my gift wrap look rather plain. They are all so pretty. One year I would love to make my own hand stamped gift wrapping paper for something more personal and I think the homemade look is great.
What kind of gift paper are you wrapping your presents in this year?
Do you enjoy wrapping presents or cringe at the thought of it?

I love choosing wrapping paper- usually I get a few different rolls that match (similar colours) as I like the look of presents wrapped up differently. You’ve reminded me I need to get some tags!
Ha! Yep I always forget the tags too 🙂
We got all ours from Sainsburys, bit of a novelty as it opened in our town last month!
My sister uses those massive atlases you get for £1.99 in cheap bookstores for wrapping and bunting; great for smaller items!
That is such a gorgeous idea, love it!
Oh gosh I am so bad at wrapping – I leave that for Ben hehe 😉
Oh I love it, just as well really as Alfie is hopeless at wrapping. 🙂
I think your gifts look beautifully done Jemma, very precise with the bow! I actually find wrapping presents really relaxing – if I’ve given myself enough time haha!
Thanks Claire…precision is everything! Ha! 🙂
