How cool is this mug?!?
We have a brand spanking new coffee machine at work, like the one you get in coffee shops (swoon!). Everyone has being going crazy for it in the office. I don’t really drink coffee that much but I haven’t been missing out. I’ve been using the milk frother to make the most amazing chai tea lattes.
I do love a quirky mug and I think this one has to come first in the quirky mug awards, if any such thing exists. Unfortunately I can’t take the credit for the genius of this mug as its not mine. I am quite possessive with my mugs at work, but I couldn’t resist using this one.
What a week, what a week! As I mentioned earlier this week it has been crazy, but I’ve but totally buzzing off all of the positive vibes at work. Amongst all of my work I have found time for some delicious food like this butter bean stew:
I made this in the slow cooker on Sunday and it had served me well for lunches this week. It’s a pretty basic recipe but it tastes fabulous, it’s also packed with veggies too.
My slow cooker had been through its paces this week as I also made this lamb curry mid week using madras curry paste. I had it with some steamed veg and roasted sprouts and squash for a quick and no fuss meal.
Plantain pancakes also made a return this week, man I love those things.
I served these bad boys up with some steamed kale and some roasted chicken breast and some ketchup on the side, mmmmm!
Breakfasts have mainly been at my desk at work and have been some spin on porridge. It was really warm yesterday morning though so I made myself a green smoothie.
This in was a blend of spinach, banana, pear, camu camu berry powder and unsweetened almond milk which I drank in the car. You see how much I love my vintage florals from this picture, even my laundry basket has flowers on it. =)
I’m really looking forward to some R&R this weekend. I also have some lovely things planned as it’s Alfie’s birthday on Sunday, yay!
Do you drink from a quirky mug? Does it bother you when someone uses your mug at work?
What do you have planned for this weekend?

The butter bean stew looks great, I eat mostly veggie and must admit to not using my slower cooker nearly as much as I should. Another one of those neglected kitchen gadgets hidden in my cupboard! Could you share the recipe for the butter bean stew, I’d love to make it!
Thanks Fran. Sure I will definitely share the recipe when I make it again. It’s really simple to make.
That’s a nice mug! I love butter beans too! 😀
To make a “proper” smoothie do you need some type of protein powder/other powder?
Great post,
xoxo
You can add protein powders to make them more substantial, but they are still great without them too.
Haha I hear you about being possesive about mugs! No one dares use my mug now after the whole hoo-ha with it going missing and my poster 😉 So yes, yes I do get very mad when people use my mug hehe.
I have finally got my slow cooker out and am trying lots of different recipes. Love it!
Hahaha! I still love that story of you putting a poster up for your mug. 🙂
That mug is so cute! I love it!!! I do have a couple of favorite mugs, as well as one that I keep at the office 🙂
I still need to buy a mug for work, it has to be something cute and fun. 🙂
I love that mug! Our mugs are mainly pretty rather than quirky but a nice mug always cheers up a day. Now I work from home I don’t have to worry about people stealing my mug but it always used to annoy me when I was in a busy office!
Have a brilliant weekend Jemma 🙂
It is really annoying when the mug is obviously yours and somebody else uses it. Hope you had a fab weekend!
very cool indeed :o) We just have plain mugs,so now I have to do something about it 😉
Hehe! Go and treat yourself to a funky new mug. 🙂
I only like drinking from my mugs, I have an extensive collection ha! Have a great weekend!
Same here, I love my cute mugs. Hope you have enjoyed your weekend!
Love that mug, funny mugs are always a smile creator! I need to get back on the smoothie train, what better way to start your day then with a green goddess! Lots of love to you! C
They are great for making you smile, especially if you’ve had a bad day. Have a great weekend! 🙂
Lamb looks tempting and butter bean stew is delicious
Thank you! 🙂
Love that mug!
I take in old mugs to work, as we don’t have our own ones- we just use which ever one is free. But I am quite particular and choose ones that are the right size, thickness etc for what I like!
