Today I have a post for you about getting married abroad with a particular focus on the Philippines, something a little bit different. Our first wedding anniversary is coming up next month and I often think how would our day have been if we had got married overseas.

1. Food – Traditional Filipino cuisine are mostly made up of seafood, chicken, meat, and rice. 2. Dress – As mentioned, Filipino weddings are not as different as you can imagine and you can still wear the same old dresses like the ones you see on usual weddings. The bridal gown can have a modern look and so are the bridesmaid dresses and the other attires of the entourage. But if you want to be true to your them, then you can go for the Baro’t Saya and the Barong Tagalog (the traditional clothing of the Filipinos).
3. Location – Filipino weddings can be done by the beach, which is closer to the tropical theme or it can also be held at the scenic rural areas where some locals get married. Just ask your travel advisor on some of the great destinations at the country where you can hold your wedding celebration.

1. The Philippines is a predominant Catholic country, but it has a lot of indigenous communities because of their island location. This means that you can go for other ritualistic celebrations if you really want to go out of the ordinary.
2. Traditional wedding does not focus on the cost, but rather on the bond of the couple and the family of the bride and groom. Hence, there are certain rituals that are needed to be followed before the exact wedding takes place.
3. Filipinos are known for their warm hospitality, so rest assured that when you have your wedding at their country, you will immediately feel “at home” and you will certainly have a good time tying the knot.
