At 27 years old I thought I had hung my egg and spoon race up a long time ago.  How wrong was I…

We had a back to school sports day event at work that I helped organise.  It included all of the regular stuff like an egg and spoon race, sack race, 60m sprint, tug of war and the 3 legged race.  Also, there was a rather messy water balloon relay race too.  I always used to fear my school sports day mainly due the thought of embarrassing myself, but this one was so much fun and everyone was game.  There was even a BBQ and an open bar afterwards too.

Since resetting my body after eating lots of rich and sugary foods last weekend I’m feeling miles better.  Being kind to my body is of upmost importance to me, so the beginning of the week was about giving my body a break and listening to exactly what it needs.

Green smoothies have been high on the agenda this week.  This one was pretty basic consisting of a banana, spinach, Vita Coco coconut water and unsweetened almond milk, yum! Those organic crispbreads were super delicious too.

We went to a lovely café for lunch the other day and they had this lovely anti-pasti salad with grated parmesan, goat’s cheese and Parma ham.  Oooh this was good!

I made this lovely red pepper, spring onion and goat’s cheese omelet for a quick meal on Wednesday night.  Steamed broccoli was the perfect side and tasted great with the melty goat’s cheese.

As regular readers will know, it’s all about balance on this blog.  I fancied some Nutella on top of my fresh berries and coconut cream so I just went with it.  I’m so glad that I did as the Nutella and coconut cream reminded me of a bounty bar when mixed together.

I also had a few sweets and lollies at our sports day event.  I felt fine with it due to resetting my body early on in the week and not going crazy and diving in to the sweetie jars. My body seems to handle sugar better in small doses as part of a healthy lifestyle, rather overloading on the stuff and sending my blood sugar through the roof.

In other news…

  • I’ve so chuffed that my blog has been featured on the Sainsbury’s website.  Thank you to all of my amazing readers and sponsors for your amazing support on this incredible journey. I feel so blessed!
  • Also, I think I am going to postpone the UK blogger meet up as some of you cannot make it.  It would be nice to meet so many of you, so I think it’s best to postpone the event for a more suitable time.

I’ve got a lovely weekend planned of just relaxation and chilling out.  Tomorrow I’ve going to venture out to my first hot yoga class, I can’t wait!
