This weekend has been exactly what I needed. After a rather busy week at work it has been nice to just relax and do nothing. We’ve only popped out to do the grocery shopping and that’s about it.
OOTD: Dress, Forever 21//blazer, Zara// leggings, Primark// ballet pumps, Mimco//bag, Mulberry.
Sorry for the bathroom shot…classy! I love that I can be more expressive with my clothes in my new job. The dress code is smart casual so the options are endless. I’m currently loving the pretty dresses and blazer combo.
Friday night we picked up Alfie’s brother from the train station as he’s come to visit for the weekend. We had quite a late night so it was nice to sleep in for a little bit longer in the morning.
After my gym workout I made a perfect Saturday breakfast of bacon, fried eggs with super runny yolks, half an avocado and some tomato sauce. This was really filling and kept my belly satisfied for a good 5 hours.
The fruit platter addiction is still going strong:
A chopped apple, strawberries and grapes eaten in the afternoon sunshine yesterday.
I’ve had a few breakfasts at work this week, mainly due to being too busy to plan the night before or giving myself more time to sleep. Danio yoghurt with fresh berries and granola has been a staple this week.
Staples are always a staple for breakfast because I can drink them on the go:
This was a simple berry smoothie made with frozen summer berries, half a banana and lactose free milk.
This week I treated myself to a couple of small wholegrain salad boxes from Marks and Spencer’s (2 for £4 deal.
I also bought some cooked chicken and added some chopped cucumber, celery and tomatoes to make the dish more lighter. Both of these were gorgeous and such a treat. I could easily eat M&S salads every day!
New favourite snack bar…
Coconut and macadamia is not something that I’ve tried before but it sure works!
Dinners this week have been pretty speedy, again because of the lack of time.
This was steamed broccoli with left over roasted chicken, sundried tomatoes, olives and anchovies and hummus.
The other night I made a speedy stir fry of vegetables and king prawns in a ginger, honey and soy sauce. I always say it, but stir fries are a great way to get more veggies in your diet and they are super easy to make too.
This morning I woke up at 6am but managed to go back to sleep for a couple more hours. I don’t know why but my body clock seems to think that I need to get up at 6am everyday. It’s great knowing that I can trust my body to wake up at the right time during the week, but it would be nice to be able to get a proper lie in at the weekends. It was lovely getting those extra few hours in this morning.
Is your body clock your worst enemy at the weekends?
Do you like to treat yourself and buy lunch out sometimes?

I like it when we go away for the weekend as then we have lunch out- a lovely treat 🙂
It is a treat to eat out, such a nice change 🙂
I absolutely love those m&S salads and they’re not a bad price either! Happy Sunday Jemma!
The price is pretty good for the quality- hope you had a great weekend!
Oh girl I feel ya on the natural early morning wakeup calls. My body doesn’t seem to understand the concept of sleeping in, so no matter what, I’m up around 5:30 every day, and it’s pretty rare that I’m actually able to fall back asleep.
Oh no, 5.30 am is really early. May be you could use the time to read, get some jobs done etc.
At th weekend I’m really struggling to sleep past 7am because of the light, but I do enjoy that. I wake up gradually and feel very refreshed. I do have an eye mask though for when I really fancy just rolling over back to sleep haha.
I’ve always wanted an eye-mask, they just scream glamour!
That dress is gorgeous! 🙂
Thanks 🙂
I do tend to wake up at the same time, I see it as a good thing really. I get enough sleep so those early hours I can just stay in bed with cuddles or get up and attempt to be productive! Love the veggies chicken and hummus plate!
Thanks, it was lovely and so easy to just throw together!
My body clock does the opposite, my fatigue makes mornings an enormous drag! I just wish I could wake up naturally at 6am.
You look lovely in that photo (bathroom pics rule haha) I will be dressing exactly like that for my work experience next week 🙂
I wish that type of bounce ball was vegan, sounds so good! I always wake up early, I don’t remember the last time I was able to sleep in!
