Over the past few weeks I have been sent a selection of products to try, which I thought that I would share with you.
Lactofree
I was contacted to try some items from the Lactofree range and was sent some vouchers to go shopping with. I’m always looking for different milk alternatives with my current favourite being almond milk. When I saw the Lactofree milk next to my usual option I thought I would give it a try instead. So in went a carton of the whole and semi-skimmed milk.
Lactose free milk is ideal if you have trouble digesting regular cows milk as the cows milk is filtered to remove half of the sugar. Lactase, an enzyme that breakdown lactose, is then added to break down the residual sugars which the body can then absorb.
Overall, I’ve really enjoyed trialing this product. My family are also big fans of the milk! The milk is so rich and it’s made my smoothies really creamy and delicious. Lactofree also produce butter, yoghurts and cream cheese and is available in most major supermarkets.
Danio
You may have seen the new Danio fat-free yoghurts advertised on TV. I jumped at the chance to review these yoghurts as I had read things about them already.
The fat-free aspect of these yoghurts did concern me a little as I’m all for full fat as it keeps me fuller for longer. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how full these yoghurts left me. There is up to 13g of protein in each 160g yoghurt pot and only 126 calories- you have to admit that it’s pretty impressive! Not only are they packed full of protein but they taste great too. They strained yoghurt is accompanied by a fruit compote. The only downside with these kind of yoghurts is the high sugar content, but I think they are great as a treat.
Danio yoghurts can be bought nationwide.
Welch’s grape juice
Last year I got to try some of Welch’s grape juice to review for the blog. Months ago, I have been a bit slow with this particular review, I was asked to review some of their new additions to the range.
I was sent the new white grape and raspberry, light rose grape and light purple grape drinks. Both Alfie and I really enjoyed these products. I love that they are naturally sweetened and the taste reminds me a little bit of Shloer. You can get really experimental with these drinks and use them to make some amazing cocktails and fruit punch. The other great thing is that they are readily available in the supermarket for all to enjoy.
Have you tried any of these products? What did you think?
