Tea, that national institution here in the UK and often offered as a sign of comfort. It’s true that us Brits really love out tea and I am proud to admit that I am part of the tea addict crew. There are just so many varieties out there that it is hard to choose a favourite. Personally I am more drawn to herbal teas and a staple in my tea collection (yes I have quite a nice pile of boxes stacking up!) is green tea. But I am also quite partial to a fragrant Earl grey tea too with a dash of almond milk.

Lucky for me I have been sent a couple of different teas to review over the past few weeks, which were so good that I just had to share them with you all.

Twinings Taste Sensation

Twinings is a world renowned tea brand that is sold in over 115 countries. It produces a wide variety of herbal, fruit and aromatic teas, so there is something for everyone! This particular collection of teas is an exciting new range from Twinings, bursting with lots of exotic flavours this range is perfect to see you through the summer months.

I was sent the Camomile and Maple and Blackcurrant and Rhubarb Sensations teas to try out.

My favourite by far was the Camomile and Maple tea which also has a touch of vanilla in it too. You can smell the lovely maple from outside of the box! I really love having this tea in the evening as I find the camomile really soothing and love the rich maple flavour if I am craving for something sweet.

Unfortunately, I’m not really a big fan of fruit teas so the Blackcurrant and Rhubarb really wasn’t my cup of tea. Ha…did you see what I did there!? Although the flavours sound very summary and with the addition of vanilla I was willing to give this fruit tea a go. I can see what the creators wanted to do with this tea as the flavours remind me of a fruit crumble or a summer fruit pudding however I found the black currant flavour a little bit too overpowering for a summer tea. For me I think I would enjoy this tea more in the colder and icier months of winter.

Other flavours in the range include Buttermint, Raspberry and Dragonfruit, Lime and Ginger and Double Mint Sensation. I love the sound of the Lime and Ginger tea. You can grab yourself a box of these teas from Waitrose or Tesco for around £2.29.

Twinings Everyday Tea

Twinings have just re-launched their classic Everyday tea. With over 300 years of experience of blending tea their quest was to create the ultimate tea for everyday that suits everybody’s taste buds.

The new blend is a mix of African and Indonesian teas and includes both Assam and Yunnan teas to give it a very authentic taste compared to others on the market. For an everyday tea this one is pretty good and I have been enjoying it with a splash of almond or soya milk to give it some extra richness and creaminess. I think there is something very comforting about tea with milk.

This tea is available in boxes of 40, 80, 160 and 240 teabags and is available in most major supermarkets.

We Are Tea

This is a “new to me” tea brand which I was very eager to try so was very happy when I was offered a sample pack of the teas to try.

We Are Tea has impressively won 30 Great Taste Awards in the past 4 years are well known for their unique and individual flavours. I really enjoyed the Peppermint and Daintea teas, which both tasted lovely. You can buy We Are Tea from their online shop or in Tesco.
