Happy Sunday folks, I hope you have all been enjoying your weekends. I’ve been working again this weekend; however 2 of my brother-in-laws and my sister-in-law are staying with us for the weekend so we’ve had a full house. There has been lots of laughter, jokes and late night movie sessions.
Friday night we stayed up until 3am in the morning watch movies and I had a 9am start the next day…how very rock and roll of me! Ha! I’m certainly paying for it now though and will be catching up with my sleep by getting an early night later.
I bought a bag of frozen cherries this week and have been eating them non-stop. So much so, I needed to stock up again on Friday. I’ve mainly been eating them for breakfast or dessert with Greek yoghurt on the side with other add-ins such as pumpkin seeds.
Frozen cherries, Greek yoghurt and super drippy peanut butter (PB & Co Smooth Operator)
Frozen cherries, Greek yoghurt, organic honey, pumpkin seeds and pecans.
It doesn’t stop there as I also had them in this wonderful Cherry and Almond smoothie too:
Ingredients
Handful of frozen cherries
Half a banana
Almond milk
Water
Almond extract
Sorry about the lack of specific measurements but I just free-poured with this one. It reminded me of a delicious Bakewell Tart.
In fact I have been a bit of a frozen berry freak of late. The other night I had some frozen blueberries with unsweetened almond milk also with the added treats of salted pretzels and caramel sauce, yum!
Frozen berries don’t make up the bulk of my daily eats I promise. Yesterday I made a wonderful salad consisting of mixed leaves and peppers dressed with rape seed oil, ground salt and pepper with my Sweet Potato, Spinach and Mushroom Crustless Quiche.
Also I made my Caribbean inspired stew again this week which I had with some steamed kale. Alfie loves this stew! I will be blogging the recipe soon when I manage to take some decent pictures in more natural lighting.
This curried prawn dish was so quick and easy to make. I mixed tomato puree with curry powder, cumin, stock and coconut milk to make the sauce and teamed it up with brown rice and beans and lots of steamed broccoli.
I’ve also made sure that I am getting my lemon and warm water in every morning, although I think I may have missed a few this week…ooops! I feel so much better when I start the day this way!
Enjoy the rest of your weekends! =)
Which foods are you currently addicted to? Obviously mine seems to be frozen berries and full fat Greek yoghurt, yum!
Have you seen any good movies lately? I highly recommend the new Quinton Tarantino movie Django- awesome!

I’m also addicted to greek yoghurt – literally I cant get enough of the stuff I at least get through 3 – 4 tubs per week!!
I haven’t seen any new really good films recently 🙁 I really want to see Django though! Planning to go see Zero Dark Thirty on Thursday too.
@Lift Sleep Eat I really recommend Django-fantastic movie!
LOVE frozen cherries!!! they’re amazing with Greek yogurt 🙂
@Emma It’s like the best snack ever!
Oooohhh salted pretzels and caramel sauce, heaven!!
Your quick curry sounds really good and ingeniously simple, definitely need to try it. I love the flavours and warmth in curries.
I always freeze grapes but beer thought to freeze cherries! 🙂
@Anna It really is quick and easy if you are looking for a fast meal.
And here I was thinking that I’m the only one crazy enough to be addicted to frozen fruit in the middle of winter 😉 Lately I haven’t been able to get enough blueberries and mangoes… And then there’s the cereal and yogurt addiction that doesn’t seem to be letting up either. Obviously the perfect foods for the cold weather
@Amanda It is pretty crazy eating frozen berries in this cold weather but they are so tasty!
~i’ve been reading so much about the benefits of hot water and lemon in the mornings, need to try it! I’m not surprised you’re addicted to the cherries, they look fab, and that quiche looks delicious too, off to check it out 🙂
@eatinglikeahorse I am feeling the benefits already. It really is fab!
I love the frozen cherries that Sainsbury’s do- so tasty. I often have them in porridge as they defrost overnight, and then cook in the porridge in the morning.
If you haven’t seen Argo yet then you should, it was excellent (and yes, loved Django Unchained, although I felt it was a little bit too long).
@Maria I love the Sainsbury’s cherries too. They are the only ones that I buy, yum!
I really wanted to buy some frozen cherries yesterday but they had none left – now I’m going shopping with a vengence tonight! I’m addicted to wrapping my foods in lettuce, greek yog and almond butter and cacaco (though that has been lasting for a while!).
@Claire Oh you should try and get your hands on dome frozen cherries. I can’t get enough of them!
I loved django it’s brilliant! I’m totally addicted to mulberries at the minute!
@Lauren It really is an incredible movie, loved it!
Those frozen cherries look so good! x
‘@Lily They so delicious!
