This was the wonderful view that I was rewarded with on my run on Wednesday.  I’ve been getting back into my workouts this week and I’m not going to lie there have been many occasions where I have though sod it, but I grabbed the bull by the horns and just got on with.  I’m so glad that I did as I felt great afterwards.

Talking of workouts I finally found the time to check out some gyms.  There was a gorgeous gym (sad I know calling a gym gorgeous, but that’s just me!), but I could hear my bank balance scream at the £120 a month price tag.  Hands down it was the best gym that I had ever seen and had everything that you would ever want from a gym…I sighed and went on to the next gym.  There are two gyms that I am currently debating over; both are great for different reasons.  Hopefully I would have made up my mind by next week as I cannot wait to get back and recondition my body.

Other than that I have spent the rest of the week looking after my poor husband who has been struck down my man flu, clearing out the guest room and going to the cinema to watch The Hobbit.  We have also been getting involved in a bit of home décor with a trip to TK MAX and Dunelm.

I picked out some new cushions to mix in with the ones we already had for our corner sofa to make it even more cosy:

I think the “Keep Calm and Carry On” is my favourite as it is my affirmation for this year ahead.  Although I keep taking the “Make Yourself at Home” cushion off the sofa and putting on the love seat that is our dining area in the kitchen.  I cannot make up my mind where I like it the most…decisions, decisions! =)

We also picked up some pictures for the kitchen and living room:

I just love how calm and still this picture is…just looking at it makes me feel all relaxed.

We’ve also been using up some of the vintage picture frames and others that we have to hang on the wall:

We have so many pictures stored on the computer; it’s really nice to finally have some printed. Just these little touches have made our house feel more homely.

This week’s food has been pretty tasty:

One of my favourite snacks of all time, roasted squash dipped in hummus.

My Apple and Date Christmas Muffins defrosted and topped with butter with a chopped apple.

Frozen berries, a banana, ground flax, water and almond milk smoothies.

Smoked mackerel with romaine leaves, roasted squash, cucumber and avocado, lots of healthy fats!

Stir fried veggies and spinach topped with 2 fried free range eggs.

Almond and Pear green smoothie made using spinach, a banana, pear, almond extract, hemp protein powder, water and unsweetened almond milk.

New favourite dessert: roasted squash, Greek yoghurt, cinnamon and maple syrup.

So overall it was a pretty fantastic week!  What have you been getting up to this week?

Have you seen The Hobbit yet?  What did you think?

Have you updated any of your home decor recently?
