Hello folks! I hope you have had a lovely Christmas with your loved ones.

I’ve had an incredible couple of days with the festivities starting early on Friday with a lovely day with my family, which included an incredible feast, alcohol and gifts.

On Saturday I headed to my mother -in-laws house in Telford ahead of Alfie as he was working the weekend. It was another day of celebrations celebrating my baby nephew Jacob’s 1st birthday party. It’s amazing to think that this time last year he was only a few days old and now he has started to walk and is curious and just into everything.

I was playing with him all over Christmas and he tired me out so much that I need to take a nap. We all love this baby so much!

It was quite the lazy day on the Sunday and we just spent the day chilling and recovering from the birthday party. I was patiently waiting for my hubby to come home for Christmas and was very happy when he arrived on Sunday evening. We stayed up and watched movies and just chatted till the early hours.

On Christmas Eve we had some unexpected Christmas gifts to buy and after a very lazy morning spent in PJs we headed to town. To my surprise it wasn’t as busy as I had been expecting and we managed to finish pretty quickly. We picked up some great gifts and also got loads of stuff for Alfie’s mum’s new house as her Christmas gift. Her living room, bedroom, kitchen and bathroom were kitted out; she does so much for the family so it was definitely well deserved.

We had got out Christmas shopping done for our own house the week before, but Alfie’s mum was waiting till the very last minute to do hers for the Turkey’s to go down in price. They are pretty expensive and with 14 people over for Christmas lunch we needed a pretty big one. With 1 hour till the supermarkets closed for Christmas we did a mad dash around the shops. I have never known anything like it as I am super organised, but it was actually quite fun and reminded of that game show, Supermarket Sweep! Ha!

Me and my sister-in-law stayed up until 2.30 am preparing the food for Christmas lunch. We wanted this Christmas to be extra special for Mama so it was well worth it.

Christmas Day was just wonderful and everyone was in good spirits. I was spoilt rotten this year even though I wasn’t expecting anything after the wedding. My lovely mum practically bought me everything off my wish list, including a gorgeous biker jacket and Chelsea boots.

This Christmas Alfie had the idea that we should all wear Christmas jumpers. I wanted a comedy one, but they had all sold out in the shops so I settled on the fairisle one that Alfie treated me to the other week with my claret skinny jeans.

I was completely stuffed like a turkey after dinner, but more food was consumed in the form of a trio of desserts later on: pear and apple crumble, Eton mess and tart au citron. The desserts were all homemade; we really did cook quite a feast this year. It was another late night with a game of Monopoly and a cheese board.

My Christmas ended on such a high, but I was dragged back to reality as I had to work on Boxing Day. I’m currently on an 11 day stretch at work with of days off! Alfie is working through most of it too so that is some consolation.

I’m making sure that I’m not missing out on my Christmas treats though by taking some into work and eating them at my desk.

The best thing about going back to work early is getting away from the rich foods at home. I’ve certainly been eating my fair share of heavier foods during my stay in Telford and I enjoyed every last bite.

What did you get up to over the Christmas holidays? Did you get spoilt rotten?

What have you been indulging in this Christmas?
