A big whoop to Friday! I hope this has week has treated you well. It’s been a pretty great week for me, nothing exciting but nothing to complain about either.
This week I took delivery of some Chobani yoghurts to review for the blog. I’ve seen these yoghurts on US blogs for like forever, so was very curious to see what all of the fuss was about. Hmmm…I’m going to save opinions for my review post but they are probably very against the grain.
I tried the pot of plain Greek yoghurt for breakfast this morning with figs, blackberries and nutty granola, love simple breakfasts like these.
At the weekend I made some homemade hummus with shop bought green pesto and fresh basil leaves stirred through. To say that I have been a little bit mad on it this week is to say the least:
Homemade hummus with raw carrots and red pepper slices makes the perfect snack.
Rather than a salad dressing I had some hummus on top of my salads instead. This salad included salad leaves, tuna, red pepper, red kidney beans, tomatoes and avocado, yum!
Some of my other favourites from this week:
Creamy oats made with almond milk, figs, local honey and tahini- I’m in a bit of a fig groove at them moment, is it obvious? =)
A traditional green smoothie. This really simple and much-needed after too many sweetie the night before. I mixed spring greens and a banana with almond milk, water and local honey. I added so many green leaves to this that it was rather potent but it really sorted my sugar levels out.
I’ve been loving my salads this week and this one didn’t disappoint. It included avocado, tomatoes, celery, mixed leaves and one of my bargain Moroccan cous cous salad pots that I got from M & S.
When I got home last night I was treated to a lovely meal. My lovely and very soon hubby to be had cooked me dinner. He made vegetable noodles with Thai salmon fish cakes (another Marks and Spencers special). This was so delicious and he remembered to pack in lots of veggies just for me. =)
Obviously I have been doing my home workouts again this week, but I am dying to get back into the gym- I can’t see this happening now until after the wedding. There is still quite a lot left to finalise and with a commute to work it has meant that I have had to prioritise my time a lot more.
This weekend I have some very exciting plans, my hen do! I am so looking forward to it, a weekend of pampering at a spa with my girlies. The spa has their own gym so my work out gear was one of the first things that i slung into my suitcase. After the chaos of the lat few months this is exactly what I need. It’s going to be so much fun!
Have you ever been on a hen do? What did you get up to? Where did you go?
What do you have planned for the weekend?

Ooooh how exciting!! I’ve never been to a hen do..I guess I’m a little young maybe but I can’t wait until I have mine one day haha! 🙂
With the Chobani’s…I’m not a fan at all. I only tried the plain one but that was enough to make me decide I prefer good old Fage! Maybe it was because it was fat free but it was more watery and tasted weird to me!
Your hubby seems like a good catch..a man who can cook is definitely a winner hehee! 🙂
Hehhe! He definitely is a great catch. I’m very lucky!
Oh my goodness I am now craving hummus haha this all looks so delicious!
I LOVE/AM OBSESSED with Chobani! You’re going to love it! Can’t wait to hear your thoughts!! Enjoy your weekend, sounds like it’s going to be great!
Thank you!
The only hen do I’ve been on is my sisters, we went for a meal at a local teppanyaki place and then a night out. It was fun! I have no idea what I’ll do for mine, a weekend away with girl friends would be nice then something different with family. I don’t know though but i’ll have to decide soon I guess! Hope you have a fabulous time on yours.
That sounds like a great night out! I’m sure you will have fun whatever you do.
Have a great weekend! I’m sure it will be awesome! 🙂
It was thank you!
Hehe I had to Google ‘hen do’ because I had no idea what it was. We call it a bachelorette party here in NA 🙂 I’ve been to a few when my cousins and friends were getting married, and it’s always so much fun to hang out with the girls. I hope you have a great time!
Hahaha! I forgot that you guys call them bachelorette parties.
For my hen do we went paintballing hehe! Then we had a meal at Jamie Oliver’s the next day. It was so much fun. I’m a bit of a Tom boy at heart I think 🙂 I do love a good spa weekend though.
It sounds like such a great day!
Against the grain? You didn’t like them??? I can’t imagine, as I’m absolutely obsessed with Chobani! *Sigh* the whole wedding thing sounds so exciting! I’ve never even had a boyfriend 😛
They are ok, but for e they are a little disappointing.
Enjoy your hen-do!
I have mixed views on the Chobani, edible but not a patch on Fage; I think we were spoilt by having that here first! x
,I feel exactly the same about those yoghurts.
Hope you enjoyed your hen do! I spent the weekend in London celebrating my best friends 25th birthday. I’ve never been on a hen!
I had an amazing time thank you! I hope you had fun in London.
Hope you have an amazing Hen do! I have been to two and they were both so much fun 🙂 x
Thanks it was great!
Whatever the yoghurts tasted like, that nutty granola looks amazing! The salmon fishcake looks brilliant too…
Hope you had an amazing hen weekend, it sounds like just what the doctor ordered after your last few months! Most of the ones I’ve been on have involved far too much alcohol 😉
It was definitely what the doctor ordered. It was fantastic!
Hi, Jemma! Sounds like you’re in full wedding DIY swing – hope it’s all going well. We’re sorry to hear you might not have fallen madly in love with Chobani. It is quite different than what’s currently on the market. Our authentic straining process gives Chobani a thick and creamy texture that we, of course, find delicious but may not be for everyone. We’ll look out for your review, and hope you’ll let us know if we can send some alternative flavours for you and your readers to try. Simply email chobaniuk[at]chobani dot com!
Your salads look so delicious!
