February how wonderful you have been! The start of the year didn’t go off with a bang like I had hoped, but last month has made me optimistic about the year ahead and all that it has to offer.
Cherish was my word of the month in February and that’s exactly what I tried to do. Instead of trying to rush and fit everything in I prioritised and enjoyed spending time with my family and friends. Aiden is so interactive now and interested in everything, that spending these precious moments with him are so important, he’s growing at a ridiculous rate. Allowing myself to take a step back and reflect on my day has made me realise that it’s the little things that make the most wonderful memories like the way my little man smiles at me when he wakes up from his nap, discovering new places to explore or watching the sun set over on the fields on one of our long family walks.
We’ve actually been on a few walks this month whilst the sun has been shining and went to this nearby gorgeous woodland one afternoon. It’s so nice to get out and about exploring our local area more and I’m really looking forward to the weather warming up so we can do more of this.
It took us four months, but we finally made it out on a date night since Aiden was born. OK, I may have fallen asleep in the cinema, but it was nice to get out without our little dude and spend some quality time with together.
Yoga Loving Feb saw me attempt to do two yoga sessions a week and I almost did, except for the one day where I was just too tired. I’ve loved doing this as for me it’s something that was achievable and now going to be part of my weekly exercise routine going forward.
At the beginning of last month I was excited to find out that my article on superfoods had been published in the Center Parcs Village Life magazine, so chuffed to see my name in print. I also guest posted on the Thorntons Chocolate blog about maintaining healthier lifestyle resolutions and became a BRITA brand ambassador for their #betterwithBRITA campaign.
I’ve really enjoyed getting creative in the kitchen and sharing my recipes on the blog like my Gingerbread Almond Cookies, Chickpea Chilli Soup, Orange, Blueberry Vanilla Protein Pancakes and Indian-Style Fish Curry With Lemon & Garlic Roasted Broccoli. Go check them out if you haven’t already!

March looks set to be a fabulous month already with lots going on including sorting out my blog makeover, treating myself to a ‘me’ day, my first Mother’s Day and my birthday at the end of the month. It’s a month of celebration for me and the arrival of spring, such a lovely time of year. My word for March has to be ENJOY because there is just so much to look forward to. I hope you all have a wonderful month ahead!
How was the first February for you? Any highlights?
Which word would you like to choose for March?

I love your word for february and that you took neighborhood walks, that’s one of my favorite ways to unwind after a long day!
It’s nice to get about and explore the local area, definitely a nice way to unwind.
It looks like you had a great month and it’s nice to hear that you were able to get a date night. Even if you did fall asleep 😉
Ha! Yes, hopefully I’ll be able to stay awake for the next one.
I love that you choose a word for each month. I did a word for the year, which was grow, but never thought about doing it month by month before. My husband and I are doing our first Whole30 this month, so if I had to choose a word it would probably be survive haha.
Ha! I love your word for March. Good luck for your Whole30 challenge.
February has been … freezing! I cannot wait for spring. Maybe I’ll restart yoga then. I try and try but I’ve never really gotten into it.
I’m looking forward to the warmer months too, it has been grey for far too long.
Just seen your Gingerbread Almond Cookies recipe which looks fantastic and not sure how I missed that! Look forward to more great recipes from you in the future!
Petra
Thanks Petra, there are a lot more recipes coming to the blog. I’m feeling very inspired art the moment.
Sounds like February was an awesome month indeed, mine was better than I could have ever hoped for. I was blessed with so much that this year has a great feel to it for me.
Good for you. I love the sound of positivity in this comment.
Congrats on being featured in centre parcs mag! Also loving your PJ bottoms! where are they from? x
Thanks, Lucie. I got them from Ted Baker in Debenhams.
Such exciting news to have your article published!
I love getting out for walks- it is not always so easy to do so but lovely when you do.
At least now the days are getting lighter for longer so it is easier to find time.
Sounds like a great month – congratulations on the magazine article! I love the idea of a word for each month! x
Thanks Lily, I hope you have a great month ahead.
Sounds like a great Feb. My birthday is in March too 🙂 I’m going to Paris for it, also looking forward to warmer temperatures, lighter mornings and evenings. Have a good month.
Yay for being a March baby too! Paris is gong to be great, enjoy.
I love the sound of the gingerbread almond cookies, but ginger hates me :o( They do sound lovely though x
