With every new season I like to reassess my wardrobe and have a bit of a sort out.  This mainly happens in spring and at the beginning of autumn.  For me the important thing is to have the staples in place to build a framework for the rest of my wardrobe for that season.

Now with autumn upon us I had a little look through my wardrobe at the weekend and thought that it could do with a little update.  My staples to build the framework for this seasons wardrobe include:

• skinny jeans
• cigarette trousers
• basic t-shirts
• heavy knit cardigans
• An assortment of jumpers
• floral dresses
• tailored blazers
• thick tights
• leggings
• vest tops
• ankle boots
• tailored coats
• a parka coat

Finding out that Lou Lou’s Vintage Fair was in town I thought that it was the perfect opportunity to go shopping.

After lots of debating and trying on, I decided to buy this lovely polka dot dress from the vintage fair.  I love the colour and it’s a big step away from the usual autumnal greys and blacks that I am often drawn too.  I think this will look really cute with a waist belt, thick tights, ankle boots and a thick cardigan to make it more season appropriate.

One thing that I shouldn’t have done on Saturday is step into Zara. Oh how that shop teases me!  I virtually love everything that’s in it and it’s probably why its one of my favourite shops EVER! As soon as I saw this pretty floral dress I knew that I had to snap it up.  It fits perfectly and I adore the floaty skirt.  I also thought that the colour was perfect for autumn.

From Zara I headed into Primark to check out there knitwear selection.  I stumbled upon this lovely cream cardigan.and luckily they had one left in my size.  This is going to be a great cover up over cute dresses with ankle boots.  I’ve already ear marked my floral dress from Zara to pair up with with black tights and black ankle boots. Also, it would work well with my polka dot dress with tan accessories.

I picked up another jumper from Primark in a beautiful pale blue, loving those pastels right now.  From New Look I bought a pair of black ankle boots with a wedge for some confortable height.
