Well April has definitely one of the best months in a long time…

I’ve been enjoying the spring sunshine, the lighter mornings and longer evenings and the extra bonce in my step that the better weather brings. The sunny weather as opposed to grey miserable skies makes such a difference to my day.

Much of my attention has been on my garden this month and I’ve been planted some bulbs and other beautiful flowers.

We also up-cycled our garden furniture ready for summer.

Lots of quality time has been spent with Alfie including a wonderful night out at Las Iguanas where we ate lots of delicious food and drank cocktails.

At the moment I think I have really settled into a routine where my eating patterns are concerned, but I know things may fall out of sync for a little whilst I get used to my new job and routine.  There have been a few cases this month where I have gone for the naughtier option, like last nights fish and chip supper and lots of chocolate and sweets, which I want to reign in a bit.  I’m all about balance and have been eating generally well, but over the past couple of months I think I have gone off the rails a bit and haven’t been making the best choices for my body.  I’ve definitely noticed some changes in my skin, it has become more blotchy.

My current workout regimen is great and very flexible, as it stands I know my time is going to be precious during the week now so that is something else for me to think about.  I can can see lots of future posts on this topic.  Also,  I have noticed a few things about my body where sugar/carbs are concerned which I need to blog about soon.

As a whole April has been an incredible month despite being ill at the end of it.  I think I pretty much achieved all of my goals that I had set for April and then some, including finally bagging my dream job in London! Next month is full of so many exciting things already.

Goals for May:

Enjoy getting to grips with my new job

Get back into big cook up sessions at the weekend to prepare for the week

Put away the chocolate bars!!!

Finish decorating my new bookcase and guest bedroom

Enjoy more quality time with my family

Read more books

I’m really looking forward to May already as now that I have the weekends free we’ve got some exciting plans in store.

What did you enjoy most about April?  Do you have any exciting plans for May?
