{Episode 95} Spring energy for mums: how to feel lighter, calmer and more like yourself
The mornings feel lighter, the birds are singing earlier, and there is a subtle shift in the air that whispers that something new is beginning. Spring has always been a season of renewal, of growth, and of possibility. But if you are a busy mum juggling children, work, and the mental load of family life, you might be thinking, “Renewal? Growth? I am just trying to get through the week.”
If that is how you feel, you are not alone.
For many mums, the energy of a new season can feel a little out of reach when life already feels full. However, welcoming spring energy into your life does not have to mean dramatic reinvention or adding more to your to-do list. In fact, the most powerful shifts are often the gentlest ones.
Spring Is an Invitation, Not Pressure
Spring is often framed as the season to reset everything: your home, your habits, your routines. But what if we approached it differently? Instead of seeing spring as pressure to do more, we can see it as an invitation to notice what wants to grow in our lives.
Nature does not rush; flowers bloom when they are ready, and trees slowly grow new leaves. We are allowed to move with the same gentle pace.
As mums, we are often so focused on caring for everyone else that we forget to pause and ask ourselves, “What do I need right now?” Spring can be the perfect moment to reconnect with that question.
Noticing the Small Signs of Life
One of the easiest ways to welcome spring energy into your life is simply to notice it. These little moments, like admiring the lighter mornings, can shift your energy more than you might expect.
- Maybe it is a short walk outside while the children scoot ahead.
- Maybe it is drinking your morning coffee by an open window.
- Maybe it is just pausing for a minute and breathing in the fresh air.
These tiny moments reconnect you to the present and to yourself, and often, that is where change quietly begins.
Letting Go of What Winter Brought With It
Winter naturally brings a slower, heavier rhythm, like comfort food, earlier nights, and more time indoors. While there is nothing wrong with that, spring can be a gentle moment to reflect on what you might want to leave behind.
You do not need to make dramatic changes; you can simply notice with curiosity what feels heavy or unnecessary.
Letting go of just one thing that has been weighing you down for quite some time can create surprising space in your life.

Planting Small Seeds for Yourself
Spring is the season of planting, and not just in gardens. It is also a time to plant small seeds in your own life; seeds of joy, seeds of rest, and seeds of possibility.
This can look like many different things, but here are some ideas to spark some inspiratiohn:
- Saying yes to something that excites you.
- Reconnecting with a hobby that you have missed.
- Meeting a friend for coffee without rushing.
- Taking a short walk on your own.
- Carving out a few minutes each day that are just for you.
These moments may seem small, but they matter deeply and can be powerful. When mums reconnect with themselves, everything else in their world benefits too.
You Do Not Have to Do It Alone
Something I see so often in the mums I work with is this quiet belief that they should be able to figure everything out themselves. They worry that asking for support somehow means they are not coping well enough. But the truth is, motherhood was never meant to be done in isolation.
Sometimes we just need a space where we can talk openly, reflect on what we truly want, and gently figure out our next steps.
That is exactly what coaching can offer.
It is a supportive space where you can reconnect with the woman you are beyond the roles you hold and begin creating a life that feels energising and fulfilling again. This does not happen through huge dramatic changes. It happens through small, intentional shifts that build over time.
If you would like some support in creating that kind of life, I would be so happy to help – you can book a free chat with me here.
